Mall watches have gotten crazy looking, yet some of the grand old names have followed. Every now and then, some watch maker comes up with kind of a cool idea. Reversible two-faced watches, perpetual calnedars (understands which months are 30, 31, and 28 days), power reserves, "idle mode", zero-gravity space watches..alll of which are remarkable for totally mechanical watches with no chips, winders wtc.

Garmins, Casios, Apple watches are perfectly good and for most serve many functions...they are handy even for luddites, although having vid capability is like paying extra for a tourbillon, the device that was used in pocket watches to compensate for the fact they were always in the same basic position.

Fortunately for me I’ve been busy as all hell and haven’t looked. But over the weekend I did look at my brokerage. That was unfun.

But I have about the same amount of control of the markets as I did when they were going up.

I think when I get some time, I’ll look into some different diversification strategies and see how they fared. Sometime a year or so ago I decided that various diversification instruments were dumb and my diversification needed to be out of equities, but what was in equities needed to yield. In the meantime, DCA and chill.

There’s a strong possibility that those people will be attending events average folk don’t. And in those circumstances, the people who do attend will realize what that watch is.

About the only people who wear Pateks are those who have plenty of money, inherited the watch from family, or are fools. Pateks are very nice, but some of the cost comes from the name/limited availability.

G-Shocks are amazing and relatively affordable as well. I wear mine anytime I am doing any manual labor because of how incredibly tough they are.

Absolutely, and you are 100% correct on the Patek's and similar...even if I inherited one from the proverbial rich uncle, I don't go anywhere or hang out with anyone that would even know what it was or appreciate its magnificence. If I wore it pool league, I would probably get rolled in the bathroom...by my own team.

Option A - You wear this watch.

Can’t go wrong with a Seiko. Very nice watches while still being affordable.
