Porter Jr or Laporta were obvious picks that would have been better, Brian Branch was maybe a little less obvious but yea would have been better.

I don’t recall if Tuli Tuipulotu was thought of highly enough to go late first but in hindsight he would have been a pretty solid pick at DE.

FAU probably maxes out as an AJ Epenesa type with 6-7 sacks likely being his ceiling. It happens, at this point I just hope he actually gets the snaps to get to that point and shows enough that they can save $9 million next year by letting go of Danna.

In hindsight, right? Because I'd love to see the receipts of you or anyone banging the table for LaPorta in the 1st before the draft.

Do you understand how stupid and futile it is to play this dumb game?

The only one that works without hindsight is Porter Jr. and they were never going to draft a CB in the 1st for the 2nd year in a row. They drafted 4 CBs total the year before. FAU was a solid pick at the time that made sense. It is what it is. You idiots will never learn that nobody bats a thousand.

Too bad you didn't have the balls to join the CP mock. Would've been a good way to show you this shit isn't easy, and that's going against other reeruns too.

I wanted LaPorta over Felix then...and when they passed was hoping they'd try to get Mayer that the Raiders picked just cause I wanted Kelce replacement and see both play. Wasn't that mad but disappointed at the time

I had Tom Brady as the #1 QB in the 2000 draft.

No, really, I did. Just believe me.

I told everyone we should draft Puka Nacua in the 1st round over that JAG from Lee's Summit. People just didn't listen.

Is FAU every going to be a starting DE for us or in the NFL?

Probably not.

Guess it depends mostly on how broadly you define the term. I mean technically Mike Danna was a starting DE for us -- FAU can be that. He can be as good or better than Danna was.

But is he ever going to be the sort of genuine asset as a starter that Karlaftis is? Nah -- I don't really think he will.

The fact that they were happy to slow play Omenihu creates some confidence.

The fact that they still brought Omenihu back then shakes it a bit.

I really don't know what he's going to be. But I think a better version of Danna and/or lesser version of Omenihu should be a fair bar for him to clear. Somewhere between those 2 guys is a fine, if unspectacular, use of the 1st rounder.

Obviously you're not gonna go very far if that's all you EVER get from your 1st round picks, but if that's what your 1st round 'busts' amount to, you're in really really good shape.
