*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Ryan Leaf on Cowherd's show says he LOVES the situation Mahomes is in... not surprising, but coming from a guy with his perspective, can't be bad.

That awkward moment when you trade the 10th pick to the Chiefs, watch them take a QB and then realize that he torched the CB you drafted at 27.

No wonder the Bills owner was pissed

Some excited that Kiper likes Mahomes.....

Kiper also thought Manziel was the best QB in 2014.

Kiper thought Ricky Stanzi would have best career out of 2011 class

Loved Ryan Leaf in 1998

Said Jamarcuss Russell was "Elway-like" and a top 5 NFL QB

Loved Jimmy Clausen

Sorry but this had to be pointed out

Point is, before handing out a Hall of Fame jacket to Mahome before his first rookie mini camp, let`s just wait and see lol

A lot of those guys had a ton of talent but were mental invalids. The good news is Mahomes has that talent AND the brain AND the intangibles.

Pat has a lot of work to do in order to succeed, but one thing he is not is a low character person...which was 100% the case for Manziel, Jamarcus Russell, and Ryan Leaf.

10. Kansas City Chiefs: Patrick Mahomes, QB, Texas Tech
(The Chiefs traded the 27th and 91st overall picks and a 2018 first rounder to the Bills.)
Mind-blowing. Andy Reid’s offense is highly structured. All it needs is a quarterback who runs the plays properly. (Hence the success they’ve had with Alex Smith.) Mahomes is not that. While uber-talented, Mahomes was a willy-nilly sandlot player at Texas Tech, despite operating in an Air Raid system, which demands quick decisions. He’ll have a lot to learn.

This is lazy journalism.

Of course it looked like sandlot ball...the kid had to score every drive to give his team a chance to even be in games.

Wouldn't that be something in week 12 against the Bills and Mahomes II is starting and throws to Tyreek with that 27th draft pick covering him and it goes for a touchdown.

Some of the time it was sandlot ball because Pat bailed on the pocket too soon, but a lot of the time it was sandlot ball because the Tech offensive line was like an open floodgate. He was running for his life many times. Curious to see how he plays with a much better supporting cast.
