I understand that it's not the playoffs, or even a game with a lot on the line, but my point was that in 20 years Mahomes will have had such a great career, that everyone will remember his first game at Arrowhead, as our starting QB, as the genesis of a legend, and they will remember The Throw as the moment Mahomes announced his greatness to the world.

When you look at Sherman's reaction closely it almost looks like he is anticipating the pass and is mentally preparing to make a play on the ball. But before his brain can send the signal to his body the ball is already by him and in the hands of Conley. He literally can't comprehend how that is possible.

This assertion caught my interest, so I looked it up. (Source is Pro Football Reference.)

Adam Gase - 4-7 (57%)
Todd Bowles - 8-17 (47%)
Sean McDermott - 1-6 (16%)
Bill Belichick - 44-110 (40%)
John Harbaugh - 43-93 (46%)
Marvin Lewis - 44-92 (47.8%)
Hue Jackson - 2-3 (66%)
Mike Tomlin - 32-67 (47.7%)
Mike Vrabel - 0-1 (00.0%)
Doug Marrone - 18-29 (62%)
Frank Reich - 0-0 (Seriously, what's the point?)
Bill O'Brien - 12-27 (44.4%)
Vance Joseph - 1-5 (20%)
Anthony Lynn - 7-13 (53.8%)
Jon Gruden - 30-82 (36.5%)
Doug Pederson - 9-18 (You guys know this one.)
Jay Gruden - 10-23 (43.4%)
Jason Garrett - 21-42 (You guys know this one, too.)
Pat Shurmur - 1-4 (25.000000 %)
Matt Nagy - 0-0 (Nags gets all the good refs.)
Mike Zimmer - 11-25 (44%)
Mike McCarthy - 47-93 (50.5%)
Matt Patricia - 1-2 (Think half a pi(e))
Dirk Koetter - 2-4 (50.0%)
Sean Payton - 41-96 (42.7%)
Ron Rivera - 23-47 (48.9%)
Dan Quinn - 4-9 (44%)
Sean McVay - 3-7 (42.8%)
Pete Carroll - 35-73 (47.9%)
Kyle Shanahan - 6-7 (85.7%)
Steve Wilks - 0-0 (I think this is infinity, right here.)

Wally - 52-111 (46.8%)

This is interesting, though ... 111 career challenges is a bloody ton of challenges. That's probably top 5 (or so) all-time in number of challenges. He was worse at Philly, much better in KC. This year, he's 1 for 1 (100%).

I haven't developed an algorithm that will establish either the mean or the nice ... however, my guess is that, the more you challenge, the more likely you are to wind up with a 50% success rate (or thereabouts).

Summary: Wally ain't so bad. He just challenges a lot.

Probably should have. Opposite side of the field and no decent replay, though.

According to my calculations, we had a 50/50 chance to win.

That’s an incredible throw. Really good ball placement to avoid a possible INT.

Never mind. 3rd quarter. Chiefs 35 - Gayboys 16. It was a 3rd and 15 play (after Hunt was stuffed for -5).

No wonder they called in incomplete. By that time, the refs were infatuated with the Gayboys.
