He's been doing it all year and only the really good defenses like Baltimore and Cleveland made him pay for trying to make throws he shouldn't.

That must be an interesting way of looking at it for Kyle if thats the case.

28-3 is absolutely his fault. He called those pass plays when running the ball or even just taking a knee every down gives you a higher chance of winning. The sack that knocked them out of field goal range with 4 minutes left? Thats his play call. Shouldn't matter if he's the OC or HC. He orchestrated that choke job.

And that's why I really hope we don't start slow, which we seem to have a habit of doing in SBs (how weird is it that the sample size over the last 5 years is now big enough to discuss 'habits'?).

I totally see where he's coming from. When the Chiefs collapsed epically after 38-10 in Indy, we all knew it was gonna happen. It was building up. Nothing went our way in the 2nd half.

SB LIV was completely different. Their defense dominated us and had just picked off Mahomes in the 4th quarter. We struggled to move the ball against them most of the game and could only muster 10 points at that point.

Even after we came back they still had a chance to win down 4 with 2:44 left. Then the Jimmy G deep ball miss to Sanders happened.

It happened so fast for him that game. 3 TD's given up 6 mins of game time. I get it

History doesn't really give a shit who the OC of a Super Bowl champion was. It cares who the HC was.

If you look at it in terms of opportunity cost, there's no question which would/should hurt more. He lost as the OC and still got a plum HC job (just as both Eagles coordinators did last year). Had he won, nothing changes - still the HC of the 49ers. But if you win as a HC, you're in a pretty select fraternity.

Oh sure, maybe you're just Gary Kubiak and people forget you were ever a champion to begin with. Bruce Arians. Barry Switzer. Doug Peterson. But there have been about 35 SB winning head coaches and 3/4 of those guys are names we'll remember in 20 years. You can't say that about any coordinators who didn't then reaffirm their historical standing as HC's somehow.

There's really no question that losing as a HC should sting a LOT more than OC. Regardless of fault, it's the opportunity cost that should keep you up at night.

I guess thats fair. The legacy of being a Super Bowl winning HC being clawed away from you in the 11th hour probably has an extra level of sting to it.

The stress we put on other teams causes them to try to be more than what they are is usually their undoing. The Ravens totally psyched themselves out in the AFC Championship.

If Shanahan comes out being anything different than what they've been all season, then I like our chances even more.

This game feels as simple as getting consistent pressure on Purdy and not turning the ball over. Barring a case of the fumbles, I think we accomplish both those tasks. All the pressure is on SF.

There's a reason Andy drafts lineman in the first rd most of the time. They are just so damn important. We're going to see that with FAU.

The 49ers got so damn tired at the end of that game. They were 4 deep but not quality depth. Solomon Thomas and Anthony Zettel aren't gonna be those guys.

In the Ravens game the DL was so tired at the end after losing Omenihu. Just goes to show how wise it was to draft Chenal and bring in Tranquill despite having 2 quality LB's already. Chenal can play snaps DE. Tranquill rushed a few times at DE in Baltimore too.

The depth on this team should help us signficantly.

The 49ers entire postseason this year has been getting behind and praying the other team ****s up. If they play us that way, they lose.
