The list of 85 by Roastmaster Saul Good. And hey, it's actually saul good.

As a spinoff to the successful NFL Network's version of this and from the drama thread, it has come to fruition that this thread must be created.

Each day Hootie will reveal a member starting with 101 and working his way in order to number 1. I will update the OP as I see the names revealed.

*Warning this thread may cause a severe case of butthurt*

Let it begin!!

Final Jeopardies are often really simple. The most difficult clues I think are the high dollar amounts in the regular rounds. They don't give you 30 seconds to come up with a correct response and they rely far more on your trivia knowledge than your skills at finding clues in the question.

Surprisingly, the hotshot dickbag New York guy didn't get it. He clearly shat his pants and guessed "What is the Spanish Inquisition?" Serves him right. Glad he's not going to play anymore.

Don't underestimate the impact of time constraints and television pressure.

A friend of mine actually made it on Jeopardy and the final question asked something about the Presidential election. It ended up being a civil war era answer and my buddy said something like 1857.

An odd number.

For a Presidential election question.

Yeah - that's stupid. And we all know it sitting here because we're not sitting there with a few thousand dollars on the line.

But yeah, bullfighting sure seemed pretty easy there.

Also, while the Final Jeopardy clues can be decipherable if you've got a broad enough base of knowledge, oftentimes it will be a category that you think is pretty simple, but the clue is wicked hard.

For example, Monday's clue had three pretty damn good players and they all got this one wrong in the category "20th Century People":

In a PS to an April 12, 1945 letter, he wrote, "this was dictated before the world fell in on me... what a blow it was, but-- I must meet it."

I would have bet a lot on that category, but I would have gotten it wrong.

Then there's the one from the next day, in which I'm somewhat meh on the category, but the question clearly provided all the clues one needed to come up with the right answer. I just didn't put them together. Only one contestant got this one right in "French Literature":

An article about improvements in transportation, including the opening of the Suez Canal, inspired this 1873 novel.

Correct responses:

Oh - good idea!

I actually don't usually watch Jeopardy; I was just giving SNR a bad time.

The game show that makes me feel smart is "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire".

I got the first one - That guy lived in a constant state of self-doubt. I read through a lot of his personal correspondence, etc... at the Truman Library as part of my capstone project in college. He was just constantly doubting himself and his qualifications. Just a dour dude. Churchill never had such compunction. He was pretty damn sure he was a God.

Of course, someone should now do a Final Jeopardy! question with Who is Hootie? as the answer.
