So probably a $25 million signing bonus. Could see those first 2 years having fairly low base salaries to make that similar to a 2 year, $40 million deal. Maybe $35 million.

I'd rather have Jaylon but if you're gonna get those 'option' years in years 3 and 4 when the cap is going to continue to rise, maybe that's what you'd have had to have done. They had to pay more up front to lock in the longer term while also potentially creating outs for themselves if it doesn't work.

Let's look at it this way -- lets say that Jaylon has a solid first 2 years here -- plays average to above average football; is a top 12-16 LT.

Don't you figure he'd be in line for another 2/$50 million in 27/28 with relative ease? At that point he's gonna be at the same 4/$80 million.

In this case, I think the Titans had to pay a premium to get 4 years (and the Chiefs might have as well if they wanted that for Jaylon).

It's just a really strange environment with the cap increases coming over the next several years. You're not getting a better AAV by offering more term these days.

I think he’s gonna go a lot higher than people think, if a team is comfortable with injury recovery there’s no reason to not take him.

I could see him going in the mid teens honestly.

Oh.

Well that's way too damn much. That's clearly a tier ahead of Jaylon.

I don't think it's remotely possible he can be worse than anything we trotted out at LT last season.

I feel like BV is killing it so far this offseason.

There's still some moves to be made, and we need a good draft.

I'm just ready to win another Super Bowl. This drought is killing me.

Yes, we still need a heroic draft, Veach has done well in FA but he really needs to hit on our picks in rounds 1-3, no more Skyy's or FAU's

If Simmons is cleared by the medical staff and drops to where McDuffie did his draft year you go get him.

I like the two year deal. If he pans out we have to pay the man. If he doesn't we we walk away. Would have paying him 4 years 80M and not happy with the LT play

Picks from Rounds 1-3 the last 4 years:

2021 - Bolton and Humphrey
2022 - McDuffie, Karlaftis, Moore, Cook
2023 - FAU, Rice, Morris
2024 - Worthy, Kingsley

Why did you focus on the two bad picks of the last 4 years and not the 6 home runs (Bolton, Humphrey, McDuffie, Karlaftis, Rice, and Worthy) from those same rounds?

He's the outlier, if you look at the rest of the OTs taken around then the hit rate is pretty bad.

It took Philly three full seasons to start Mailata week one.

We can find somebody outside the top 10, yes, but that means not writing a player off as a failure if they get redshirted or have immediate struggles
