Jason Kelce defending Travis

That is some big brother energy right there...

1st angle:

Jason Kelce smashes student's phone after they made derogatory remarks towards his brother Travis
byu/Chelseatilidie insports

2nd angle:

If you're above the age of 28 and you throw a temper tantrum and break personal property and try and fight a nudnik college boy you've lost my respect... You're a thin skinned bitch. Because it just takes one swing and you're paying a beta boys legal fee's (or worse). And he didn't even really look like a troll. Somehow got up into Kelce's personal space and said his brother was a bundleofsticks for pulling Taylor Swift...Pretty weird.

I doubt this helped him professionally. The cell phone spike, maybe, but saying the (other) f-word three times in a rage isn't a great look. I think he'd like that part back at least.

Maybe. Or maybe society is finally cracking down on this horseshit entitlement that athletes and personalities can be harassed without any fan consequence.

In Philly alone, Embiid just got in a fight with a reporter who for some reason used his son and dead brother to question his work ethic. But then you have yankee fans assaulting a right fielder and dodgers fans tossing bottles on the field. I think a few college games this has happened too. Osu with water bottle tossing and James Franklin getting into it with psu fans. Now this.

Feel like we’ve really let our guard down ever since malice at the palace in Detroit. Time to get rid of this entitlement. Dickhead fans need to be put in their place

I must be watching the wrong version of this incident. I didn't hear him say it once. Hadn't even heard before this post that he supposedly said it 3 times.

I don’t think it’s hurt him either. He is an even bigger hero in Philly and swifties seem to support him. It’s one of the rare times where people are understanding the context behind the words instead of just the word itself. I think he will be fine. I’m guessing he will have a well articulated comment on the podcast.

Different video. TMZ has it. Right up in his face and he say "Who's the f****t now!?" three times clear as day. I'm kinda surprised he hasn't caught more shit about it. (That I've seen)

Yeah I think he's just so well liked people are giving him a pass. People say things when they're mad that wouldn't normally. I agree he'll address it and probably come out looking even better.

Okay, watched it on TMZ. That does seem like it could be really bad for the podcast. Most NFL fans who watch probably are sympathetic to the situation and might rationalize that he's just throwing the same slur back at the guy.

Swifties are the question. On the one hand, he was freaking out defending Taylor's boyfriend. On the other, he seemed comfortable using the word himself as a put-down.

I hadn't seen the TMZ version until just now either. I wasn't aware the freaking college kid continued to follow and even push Kelce. Good on Kelce for keeping his composure. NFL players are alpha males and they have been wired that way their entire adult lives. A flaring temper combined with a few too many beers could have ended in disaster. Kelce literally could have ended that kid's life in a matter of one punch. That type of shit is scary. That kid needs to be held accountable.

I saw it on Twitter when tmz tried to pull this cancel shit but it was quickly community noted that he was just throwing the word back. He also got very very quick support from the media who usually cancels people for shit like this. I think the media has had enough of trolls and everyone is just happy to see the idiot get dealt with.

I don’t see much outrage other than people who already hate him. I think a lot of people see this as kelce throwing back the word and that had nothing to do with homophobia. Swifties are an interesting bunch but give them this… both kelces do some alpha shit and the swifties accept them and go to bat for these guys. because Jason is in with swifties they are willing to be more rational. And the swifties are powerful enough that they can control the narrative.

I don’t think he was comfortable using the word. If it’s offensive to a gay person it’s offensive to a straight person too. He sounded like he resented the douche kid using the word, not the implication that Travis was gay (and I don’t think the kid even meant that. It sounds more like he’s calling Travis a pussy, because it otherwise makes no sense at all)

Did ESPN force Jason Kelce to apologize at the start of Monday Night Countdown?

It was awkward and unnecessary.

I hate that espn made him do that. I guess technically the right move so that everyone can move past this. But at some point someone’s gotta stand up for these entitled pricks who don’t understand that real life is different from social media.

Watched the apology, and again, I think he's not talking about the cell phone. If that was all that happened I think it wouldn't have been brought up. Anyway, hopefully that's the end of it.
