Get the best left in the tank this season (and hopefully in the playoffs, mostly) and then move on and let someone else pay him ridiculous $$$$$.
CJ will probably end up on the Texans next year. Which will give them a actual scary pass rush.

Damn, and I bet CJ just misses getting 30 mil/year from KC this off season too.

Sucks because KC chose CJ over Tyreek. But who knew CJ would hold out and want $30 million per?

They chose Tyreek. They also chose Chris. They gave them fair market value deals and both guys wanted the moon.

Good for Tyreek but it was wise to not pay that much when you're paying Mahomes.

Yes...and Tyreek was worth and got the moon. CJ isn't worth what the Chiefs offered and I bet they are happy he turned it down.

To me Sacks are a stat like INTs, where context matters.

Nobody should view an INT as a bad stat if there is :03 seconds left in the half and a QB launches a prayer... or if it's 3rd and 25 from the opposing teams 40 and you launch a ball downfield like a punt.
How many INT's does Mahomes have to carry because his WR's love to tip well throw balls?

A sack on first down for a loss of 3 yards doesn't mean much when the opposing team just gets a first down the next play.

I'm no Chris Jones fan after what he pulled this off season, but I don't think you can judge a player just strictly on paper stat.
I'd much rather look at QB pressures.

And double teams he holds up against. He makes plays. We see him disrupt stuff. He not frank Clark getting washed out of the play.

Bet we lose CJ at the end of the year!

Possibly Sneed too!

If so, we gotta land big in the draft!

If he still wants $30 million a year then you are correct.

Is that different than last year? Last year he was the best DT in football. Now he’s holding up against double teams.

Only the QB is worth 30 mil per year.

I would pay elite DEs that as well. Someone like Watt, Bosa (Nick), and Garrett would justify it. Not a DT pushing 30.
