The difference here is that the BOD has to answer to a very large group of people as to how they're spending money. Stevie may be doing something that's community minded, but giving him money doesn't give you or an organization any tax breaks. If organizations sponsor him, they would probably want some sort of advertising or marketing in return.

My guess would be so that they can negotiate terms with restaurants or facilities in order to hold large gatherings. Also, he has mentioned having "Chapters" all over the country. Probably easier to have a structure in place for organizing events. Money probably changes hands between chapters, too.

THIS was the vehicle to make this happen. Chapter presidents were excited. Thousands of members.

I was asked to produce a sketch and a location.

I did that. Instead of just taking the loss, I figured I'd swing my bat alone and exhaust every avenue before just throwing in the towel.

Hence, the feel of the room question. There were no negative responses, I reached out to a few very successful people I know and asked if I was out of line, so to speak. They said no, so I went for it.

While I can appreciate Matt's sentiment, this isn't about me, it's about displaying these guys who gave back so much to city & fans, being displayed somewhere else besides the Ring of Fame. It's a long lasting visual to pass down through the generations.

I also agreed to let Monty bump the post, because this is the most hardcore group of fans I know.

Which, by the way, has been proven out, because most of the donations are coming from here so far.

To those of you who have donated, thank so you very much. I hope we can make this a reality. For their sake, not mine.

Is it the group with 3500 members? Just curious on the math as to how it reaches a million people? Does it have to do with posts showing up to non members? Do you have to pay to advertise?
