Question for you car mechanics out there
I have a 97' Ranger. It wont start all it does is make a "click" sound when I try starting it.

I don't have battery cables but I do have a battery reader and the battery was at 12.3 Volts.

Any idea what might be the issue? I'm thinking a starter.

When I was growing up I drive a pickup on the farm. It was garbage. No ac, shit seat, doggy motor. So when it was time to buy my vehicle. That thing was a car. You couldn’t force me to buy a pickup.

Now asshole kids buy pickups. They haul nothing with them and try to make them fast. Why? No ****ing clue. I had a 91 Chevy Corsica. It was faster than most of these douchebag pickups and never did I get stuck and I lived down some total shit roads. So it’s not like it didn’t have a shot. But a lightweight front wheel drive in the days before traction control and torque less engines were pretty forgiving.

But Assholes gotta have pickups.

So I took it to the shop today.

Guy calls me 30 mins before close "hey we started your truck up every hour except the last hour all it did was make a clicking noise"

Just my luck. Turns out it was a starter.

Only paid 275 which I'm not mad about.
