Would you rather the Chiefs squeak into the playoffs with our somewhat anemic offense and pray it's not a 1 and done. Or get a top 10 pick for Dorsey to draft who knows who?

Yeah, it seems that taking a #1 pick from another team should work pretty well too.

1st round QBs on playoff contending teams: Roeth, Smith, Palmer, Newton, Mannings, Teddy, Luck --- Just Peyton , Smith and Palmer on teams different from where they were drafted.

6'1 at the Combine. I don't really see that as a big deal.

Montana and Young were 6'2.

Either he can play or he can't. One inch in height isn't going to be a determining factor.

I said when we were 2-5 the people begging for a high draft pick were dreaming. There are currently 9 teams with a winning record. Nine. Out of 32. Even when we were 2-5 there were a bunch of teams below us, it's even worse now. This is a terrible year for football, and whoever is hot going into the playoffs could end up being the 2nd or 3rd best AFC team. That other spot to face the Patriots in the AFC title game is wiiiiiiiiiiide open.

Either way... there is value in having a top 10 pick. However, you look at teams like the Steelers and Ravens and they have success almost every year, draft quality players at almost any point in the draft, and still have drafted 1st round QBs that have won a Super Bowl. Well run organizations aren't going to use draft position as a crutch.

Why not let it expire then if their is no interest in the 1st place, like I said he'll either be great or out of the league within 4 years this falls in line with that notion.

Something Clay and I can actually agree on. Murray was not tested in college and he struggled under pressure. His highlight reel is nothing but protected pockets that gave him 4+ seconds to pull off throws. Good luck with that in the NFL.

When you have a team that plays well then your average players get a higher market value and you have more leverage to wheel and deal overachieving players.

Good players on bad teams have lower market value

The Royals had 30 years of top ten picks. I like this new approach of getting into the playoffs and winning world titles a bit better.
