Taylor could start for other teams. That contract is a different story. He's being paid like a top-10 NFL tackle.

Creed and everyone else had a poor game against the Broncos. The guy who seems to really be struggling is Trey Smith

I keep hearing how we have the best C in football and 2 of the top 5 Gs.
Yet we are still feeling a TON of pressure right up the chute. At some point, all these things can't be true. Moreover, lets assume he IS the best C for the sake of argument - if the impact of having the best C in the NFL is that you STILL need two premier OGs on either side of him to not get the interior of your line stoved in....what's the point in having the best C in football? Watching the other team get better pressure than us every single !@#$ing week is getting awfully tiresome. And it's not just the OTs - it's coming from everwhere. Meanwhile Chris Jones is one of the highest paid defenders in NFL history and with a couple of 1st round picks on the DL around him, that DL gets ****ing ZERO pressure when it matters. Spags gets a blitz home on occasion, but QBs are baking cakes in that backfield against us when we send 4 right now. And blitzing is getting tougher and tougher because Nazeeh Johnson can't defend quick breaking routes. A LOT of this stuff is just guys getting whipped right now. The other guy is simply beating our guy at whatever he's supposed to be doing. Maybe its fatigue or attrition or just boredom, but there's a lot of guys getting beat on any given play and on either side of the ball at the moment.

When you are drafting at end of each round and your QB is not on a rookie contract, you are either getting JAGs or rolling the dice. Rice was looking awesome until he went down. Yes, Hollywood has had some injury history. That is the sort of dice roll you probably have to live with to have the upside of keeping a SB roster. Hopkins has been a great late season fill in for the price. JuJu is another cheap dice roll with high up side although I don't expect much from him before he gets injured again. Teams don't threepeat for a reason. Yes, the team can go all-in this off season on LT, but something else will give if you do that. Rolling the dice on a second round LT (and the LT on the roster) while hoping a first round WR fixed the issues with not having a deep threat, is taking high ceiling guys not high floor guys. Have I mentioned that it is hard to threepeat. But yes, lets trade up high or trade lots of capital for a LT. I agree there is a problem that needs fixing. But it will no doubt open up another hole somewhere...

I'm way more concerned that the guys getting paid like they're the best at there position Humphrey, Thuney, and Taylor are getting beat more than Wanya Morris is.
I've said it before. IDK why it seems like Mahomes has pressure on almost every single snap, but our opponents, no matter who they are, seem to keep their pocket clean and their QBs face very little pressure. Our OL looks like a sieve all of the time. It seems like every play the opponents D is pushing our IOL shit in and then they just need to loop their edge rushers to get Mahomes when he has to bail. This IOL is over hyped as **** and they damn sure aren't the best in the league. I've said that since last year. |
