If we Chiefs fans end up wrong about Mahomes then we're in good company, as everyone will have been wrong about Mahomes.
Even troll rival fans can sense greatness upon them.

Most in the media don't predict the Chiefs to have a winning season. Chiefs fans think we are going to put up 40 a game. Its clear that everyone outside of Chiefs fans think the team is going to struggle this year, which almost certainly means Mahomes to some extent.

But as I've constantly stressed, most outside the fanbase still see it as a team game, and we're still going to have to build a champion 'the hard way.' Assemble as much competence as you can at every position and at every level of the organization, groom a few superstars who can be unleashed when the entire team gels, and pray like hell for good health when everyone is in their prime A QB alone, even a superstar, gets you the Lions of the past decade. An offense alone, even one full of superstars, gets you the Vikings of the 90s. Bad health and bad gambles at key positions get you the non-SB years of the Falcons or Panthers. You still have to do ALL the work, even if a superstar at QB relieves some tension here and there.

That's when you need a qb who can put the team on his back and carry them to a victory. We finally have that guy. |

Some for money - De Niro with Rocky and Bullwinkle, Michael Caine with Jaws 3, Nick Cage with tons of stuff. Some just bad luck - half of Tom Hanks' early films, Willis with Hudson Hawk, Hoffman and Beatty in Ishtar, Gyllenhal with Prince of Persia. Travolta has tons of shit, including Battlefield Earth, and apparently Gotti. Everyone with a resume has clunkers. A ton of talent [notably including Willis and Hanks above] assembled to make one of my personal most LOATHED films of all time, Bonfire of the Vanities. Haven't seen Pluto Nash, but it can't be that much worse than anyone else's stinkers.

Yeah, we ****ing get it, dude. Football is a ****ing team sport. A team can’t trot out a badass QB with the little slap dick nerds from the Little ****ing Giants and expect to reel in Super Bowls. We all get that and that’s why 90% of the actual Chiefs fans on here have expressed concern/panic regarding the OL/Defense at some point in the past few weeks. Because football is a ****ing team game. Everybody ****ing gets that. However, your continued failure to acknowledge that the QB position is hands down, the most important position in the game and the most crucial to its success is annoying as hell. The QB is the ****ing leader of the team. The field general. Without one, your team is likely to not stand a freaking chance. You make sure that base is covered first and then build from there, for without a QB, there is no chance...Nick Foles is not Trent Dilfer...Foles can ball.. And as passive aggressive, contrarian and subtly spiteful you have always come off towards Mahomes and the Chiefs fans who support him, it does feel for a lot of us as if we actually have a freaking QB in which a Super Bowl win is a possibility for the first time since Trent Green. So pardon us for being excited. Team game, yeah... but I’m sure that more teams have won and/or made it to Super Bowls with a sub par ILB than with a sub par QB. And that goes for every position. It’s the most important position on the field and if you had ever actually watched a football game in your lifetime, you may know that. And then you want to make RIDICULOUS statements like “a QB alone, even a superstar gets you the Lions of the past decade.” Seriously? You think the Lions have been a Stafford-only team. Stafford (who is a good QB, for sure, but superstar? Maybe in your mind, for you probably have some sort of crush on him) has had help: Ezekiel Ansah Ndamukong Suh Calvin Johnson Brandon Pettigrew has had his moments. Reggie Bush Golden Tate Matt Prater Jamal Agnew TJ Lang Glover Quinn Dan Muhlbach Darius Slay Etc... The Lions have had some talent on their roster. Such an obtuse statement. The Vikings of the 90’s? You mean the squad that had these offensive pro bowlers (excluding kickers and punters): Randall McDaniel Cris Carter Randy Moss Warren Moon Randall Cunningham Ted Steuissie Jeff Christy Steve Jordan Robert Smith Compared to their defensive pro bowlers of the 90’s: John Randle Joey Browner Carl Lee Chris Doleman Audrey McMillan Jack Del Rio Todd Scott Henry Thomas Pretty evenly matched there... And the Falcons and Panthers when they DON’T actually make a SB due to their skill players getting banged up? You referring to Kelvin Benjamin? You should see Cam Newton’s winning percentage without him compared to with him. Cam wins more without him. And Julio Jones, I’m guessing is the Falcons key player you are referring to... shit, those two teams have rolled with the punches. Injuries happen to every team and the Falcons are always a threat, with or without Julio. Try watching a football game sometime... Good God, dude. |

It was a joke. It's just a god awful movie. I'm pretty sure Travolta didn't get a lot of great work after Battlefield earth. I'm also pretty sure Nick Cage being in a ton of awful garbage is a feature, not a bug. |

So much is fine-tuned in the cinematography, edit, and now special effects that many actors have no idea what their product is like until they see it on screen just the the rest of us. Hollywood is filled with stories of great concepts that people gave good performances towards that were ruined somewhere along the line by a wild hair by the director, or bad timing, or cheesy effects, or a wrongly cut crucial scene. Eddie in particular, I think, has been unfairly dinged for 'losing it.' He's had plenty of material interpersed to show he still has it. He just gets talked into poorly thoughht out projects every once in a while. Maybe he needs a better team of advisors, but that's different from losing it.

Watch Edge of Tomorrow if you haven't. Tom Cruise is a nutbag but he's a great actor and gives his all every time.
Sure, he enturbulated his personality away but still. He treats everyone great. (I worked on Edge of Tomorrow and Valkyrie) |
