*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Don’t come into threads all of the sudden being a shit ass and expect any different. You call the Texans defense vanilla, yet if you knew anything about the Chiefs then you’d already remember that Reid said they were stashing away most of their practice plays until the regular season.

Of course I know that. And if I were really here only to shit on Mahomes, don't you think I would have done it sooner, like during his INT spree in training camp?

After this preseason game, I’m turning a touch worried. Not that PMII can’t be what we think he can be, but that the hype has gotten to him a bit. The pressure is mounting, he’s dealt with it so far, but it’s mounting more and more, taking away the edge that made him such a great prospect. In college he knew he was good, now he’s basically being told to over think situations, doing ad deals, and getting in his own head. Like I’m worried he will be Elvis Gerbac’ed.

He was unsettled, unsure of himself, different. Not just the product of the Oline being rusty, something else. Hopefully just an off day, he never got over his jitters on. But I did have the thought..... commercials, over attention based on hope and possibilities, getting into his own head. It’s possibly worrisome

Then I remembered, it’s preseason, game one. So who, in their right mind, could over analyze that? Unless you think training camp interceptions are a big deal, that is.....

My only concern is the offensive line but like at Texas Tech he still overcame adversity so I think its just going make him a better manbeast quarterback. He went make the offense line any excuses so he will push through and persevere. He has poise in the pocket and can rifle the ball out quickly and we have quick receivers.

dude holy **** this place is overreacting. I thought Mahomes played pretty well. He didn't force anything, made a couple mistakes that a rookie would. I mean jesus guys lighten up and enjoy the preseason.

OL should concern everyone. He got hit 3 times in two very short series. Once by two guys and the same damn time.

I hope the damn media ask Andy to give a real reason for Cam being on this team. He's not NFL talent.

Exactly. Nothing great happened. Nothing bad happened, except for the OL not being able to block anyone to provide a semblance of a pocket.

Left side of OL played like balls.

And really they all did...even Schwartz.

If Mahomes thinks he's gonna get killed on every play, that's not gonna bode well for his improvement and confidence.
