It was your fault. Deal with it.

I knew it was a joke.
I'm good at the insurance game. I will get max dollars out of this claim without committing fraud. I'm still pissed about the wreck. I've had a low grade headache since last Thursday. Today is the first day that it hasn't been an all day thing. My shoulder and neck still hurt like a mother****er and that's after taking muscle relaxers and pain killers since Tuesday. |

I'm the last person anyone would call a gearhead, and I need some advice...
I have a 2005 dodge Dakota for small moving purposes, and it has been running fine, but today the engine won't turn over, so my first thought was the battery's dead, but all of the lights still turn on along with the ac, any thoughts from the experts? I mean before I have it towed |

Most likely its a bad starter. But clean your battery terminals and your cable ends. If its an automatic make sure its in park if its a stick shift make sure that your switch on your clutch is working properly the switch is actually at the top of the clutch rod under your dash

Take the cables off and clean them. If that doesn't work take the cable off to the starter and clean the ends.
Go to Napa and get some terminal cleaner. I always like to use the sealant too but I'm not sure it does any good. |

Doubt many people at all who moves in that situation is really thinking "better that guy than me!" at that moment.... probably more like "oh shit!" If there was a second to think about it though, moving gives the guy another car length+ to stop.

Thank you everyone for the input, I tried it all but it's looking like I need a new starter
Thanks again for the advice, now I've just going to have to learn to remove and replace it |
