Off Season Lets Talk Guns, Part 2

Been a while since we had a guns n' ammo discussion.

Some of you are AR shooters Im sure. Im looking at a Colt 6920. Will be my first AR. Picked up a Glock this fall and really enjoy shooting it. Any feedback on that weapon?

Anyone else been in a buy/sell/trade mood with hardware?

Vortex is trying to move out their PST and HS-T lines for the Gen IIs.

An HS is basically a non-illuminated PST with capped wind adjustments.

Oops, I lied. I have a Leupold VX-R 1.25-4x20mm - FireDot Duplex on my new AR.

But I do still love it.

Evidently it's a failed design for a cheap thermal sight. It has a crosshair mode, but can't be adjusted/zeroed. Leupold has some insane requirements for recoil testing which it couldn't quite pass.

It's built on a 30mm tube, so it can be mounted in front of a red dot, which is exactly what I plan to do on a SW AR-15/22 for skunks and such. Evidently people are putting them on hog guns, 5.56 and .300BLK, and they are holding up fine.

In other words, one is on the way to my house....

Let me know what you think of it, and if it's useful enough. The idea of having a thermal sight is intriguing.
