So what qualifies? Redneck? I don't think so, that doesn't even apply to all white people. That's one thing, no one has ever come up with any kind of horrible slang word for white people.

First of all, it doesn't bother us so much because we don't have a history of being kept down. Therefore, it's hard to find a superword to zing us. However, we don't appreciate double standards.

Second of all, Houstonwhodat kept saying "ninjas" and he got banned.

Ninjas doesn't apply to all black people.

I kind of view redneck the same way as I do the "N" word. No, they don't apply to every person of the respective race, just the trashy kind. And, what Phobia said earlier certainly applies: context is key. If a Black person uses Cracker/Cracka in a derogatory way, that's inherently racist.

Some Asian guy in Chicago who was pissed at me called me a "Redneck Hick Farmer from Kansas" once (I was wearing a Chiefs shirt at the time). I had no doubt whatsoever that it was intended as a racial slur. Absolutely none. And neither did the people who restrained me from beating the shit out of him. Holy crap I never snapped so fast in my life. Racial insult coupled with acusing me of being from Kansas? That ****er's seriously lucky to be alive.

I love it when people who live in small towns or cities that maybe see four of five minorities in an average week try to tell me that there's no reverse racism, or that it doesn't matter. Come to Chicago and tell me that shit.

I thought fat people had the same amount of skin but it's just thinner and all stretched out.

**** no. White people have held all the power, and all of the advantages since this country's inception. No one has ever said we are 2/5 human. Just because you were born in the last 50 years doesn't mean the past didn't happen. And while it may not be as widespread as it was back then, it still exists. And current generations have to deal with the pain of passed generations. It absolutely does not cut both ways. And the fact that people think it does, is one of the big reasons why it still exists today.
There are an incredible amount of historical inaccuracies within this post.

"White people" have most certainly not held most/all of the power since the country's inception. In fact, the very term "white people"as used today wouldn't have made sense centuries ago given the fact that we view whites in a much more homogenous manner today that in times past. Italians, Irish, etc. held virtually no power until relatively recently...that is to say nothing of the political makeup of the country prior to the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote.

As for the 2/5 part, I assume you're referring to the three fifths compromise. This compromise is completely misunderstood by most people...yourself included.

Treating slaves as only 3/5 of a person was the compromise. Slave owners wanted them treated as a full person. Abolitionists didn't want them counted at all.

Treating slaves as a full person wouldn't have given them new rights. It would have inflated the population of the south giving it more political representation in congress. The slave owners would, in essence, get an extra vote for every slave they owned. That's not really a plus for the slaves.

This doesn't really take away from your larger point, I guess. You should probably understand the history you're citing before basing your arguments on it, though.

I grew up in Seattle, and hang out in casinos. So I know. Racism is racism is racism. I changed my mind. What's good for the goose is good for the gander. We should ban anyone talking that shit out of their assholes. Just forgive me if I don't get as worked up over the word redneck, as I do ****er, person of Hispanic heritage, chink, gook, or whatnot. It's a work in progress I guess.
