Watched Obvious Child. Worth a rental if you like Jenny Slate in general. Small film, decent roles. [Stereo]typical Brooklyn millennial angst stuff. David Cross has a small part that was unnecessary, but humorous. Don't believe the hype that it's world shaking or amazing though.

If I had to summarize it in a sentence, it'd be 'a supersized episode of Girls where the lead is actually attractive.'

Plot details spoilered

Spoiler!

I watched Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. It was pretty damned good.

There were a couple parts where the CGI was wonky on the apes, but overall it was pretty ****ing spectacular. The ape speech and transference of emotion was far better than any of the previous ones (RotPotA notwithstanding). The story seemed to fit pretty well too. It didn't feel forced and felt like they covered all the angles. And the ape fight scenes were pretty spectacular.

Overall a damned good movie.

Welp - what? 15 years later I finally see 'The Hurricane' - very nice. Good flick.

It was all I could do to hold back the tears at the ending of the Hurricane. Wow. Great film, can't believe I had never seen it. Very powerful.

We watched it this weekend as well. Sure, lots of it is illogical as hell... but it was pretty fun and visually entertaining.

Just finished Dumb & Dumber To... was it as good as the first one, of course not and everyone expected that. But I still enjoyed every bit of it, they're still just as stupid as ever, it was two hours well spent as far as I'm concerned.

The only sad part is how old those guys are looking, a not so gentle reminder that I'm no spring chicken either.

bro, style and fun? I found it completely drab and exhausting, completely lifeless even visually they shot it uber-desaturated for some reason
