that's more of a necessity, not really an addiction.

Tomatoes, salsa, specifically.

I had a stomach ailment a few years back in which I had to take a PrevPac and go six months without caffeine, alcohol, citrus and tomatoes.

I don't drink sugary soft drinks, ever, so that was easy. I don't drink coffee but I do drink iced tea. That was kind of tough at first. Dropping alcohol? No problem. Sometimes I drank club soda but most of the time I stuck with water.

But what was killing me, I mean, absolutely killing me was no tomatoes.

I make salsa and purchase salsa from the local Mexican marts. Whether it's homemade pico, chipotle or molcajete salsa, I put it on nearly everything, from scrambled eggs to, of course, tacos, burritos, grilled fish, in black beans & rice and LOVE chips and salsa. I also put grape tomatoes in my salads and tomatoes on the occasional deli or chicken sandwich and burgers. Cholula on a breakfast burrito is a must, otherwise, why eat a breakfast burrito?

No tomatoes was the most difficult thing I've ever had to stop. Fortunately (or unfortunately), none of the above were causing the issue so after six months, it was business as usual.

Thankfully.

I don't know how people function without caffiene, no matter how much rest you've had.
I have a can of coke once every 10 or so days, but coffee is a daily thing for me.

That's by far my biggest addiction. Also, I would imagine sugar is another big addiction for many people.

Um, maybe I'll add myself to that list as well. My wife calls me a tomato slut.

I grow my own tomatoes most of the year (3 different varieties this year). I eat salsa every day on something and make my own. I have a salad every day and eat grape/cherry tomatoes on it every time. Sometimes after a salad I'll just slice a tomato and eat it as well. I top any sandwich and burger with a tomato. I love having Spicy V8 juice in a glass while watching TV at night. I love making Blood Maria's and Micheladas, extra heavy on the tomato juice.

I have a friend at work who cannot eat tomatoes due to a disease. I honestly don't think I could do it.

Hey man. Did you know gardening is illegal in New Zealand. That's crazy.

I WILL NOT have a tomato slice with ANY green on it. NEVER.

Cash and drinks or blow and a kind word or two. That one's easy.
