I love Wolverine, so this was great for me.

Gambit was one of my favorites growing up and I was really happy to see Channing finally get to put on the suit, bittersweet as it was. I hope he gets to come back.

I was dying to see one of the legacy X-Men though. A comic accurate Anna Paquin/Rogue would have had my packed audience going nuts. Scott Summers in the blue suit would have been awesome, too.

The Power of Love montage was one of the greatest things I have ever seen on screen. I love the yellow & brown Wolvie suit and seeing the Age of Apocalypse and Patch and other versions was so ****ing cool. Only thing better would have been Jubilee saving the crucified Wolvie. Better than Endgame and No Way Home for me.

I've seen it twice. So far.

Exactly my experience. Once they shifted towards focusing on all the Fox characters I was pretty lost. Had no clue who most of them even were so the references went over my head and the jokes didn't land nearly as well for me. Couple that with a pretty lackluster story even for Marvel standards and it was starting to drag hard.

I went to an early bird showing so my crowd was pretty neutral, which I am totally fine with. Outside of a lot of laughs at the jokes, not much reaction all around.

Snipes looked good, albeit skinny. Chris Evans looked slim af too. It’s crazy to see how quickly these dudes lose weight once they’re not making these action flicks anymore.

The writers are definitely Redditors. That quote is a top comment anytime Blade is mentioned on that site.

I enjoyed him using the glaive from the intro race scene in Blade. He may have used it in the opening of Blade 2 as well.. can’t reminder.

Blade and Gambit were kicking nameless jamoke ass either way and I loved every second of that.

So.. I was a bit confused about that.

If I’m remembering correctly, it seems like Deadpool’s home universe is Earth-10005 and the main MCU continuity is Earth-616. With the mention that his universe’s timeline was healing and the ending birthday party continued, it seemed like Deadpool had gone back to Earth-10005 with the addition of these new Wolverine and X-23 variants..?

Obviously Deadpool is Deadpool. We saw he had the Avengers interview with Happy in 616 so I suppose he can jump between the timelines when necessary..?

Idk. I’m not sure what to make of it now.

I’ll tell you, I was expecting a very clear ending with them basically taking characters that they really liked from the Fox movies like maybe McAvoy, Fassbender, Reynold’s Deadpool, Jackman’s Wolverine, etc. and plopping them into the main timeline right before their respective timelines were wiped.. perhaps they’ll save that sort of scene for a Secret Wars run..

I was a little, disappointed is too strong a word, but let down I guess, that they didn't take the opportunity to explain away or at least acknowledge that the X-Men movie continuity makes no goddamn sense. Even if you ignore everything else, how do the Deadpool movies fit with Logan?

Oh I totally forgot. If you aren’t familiar with the Loki Disney+ series, you are going to be VERY CONFUSED. In fact, I’d say it’s a requirement before seeing this movie.

This version was no X-Men 97, but I honestly was low key impressed. For him to be a comedic bit character, they kind of did him justice. Tatum’s accent wasn’t terrible (I literally have never met a real Cajun so maybe I’m way off base) and they did a good job of showcasing and being creative with his powers.

If they didn’t go so cheap with his costume, it would have been amazing.

Speaking of, wtf was up with that costume? It looked HORRID. The chest piece looked like shitty plastic.

The wife and I saw it and just loved it. Now I got all the old movie references but the wife didn't and she still loved it.

I think the only one she recognized was Blade. She even missed Chris Evans. I thought the Chris Evans cameo was the best. He thinks he is going to be Captain America and he turns out to be Johnny Storm. That was ****ing hilarious along with him actually saying all the shit Deadpool said he did. I was rolling.

Channing Tatum was going to play Gambit in Origins, but had G.I. Joe conflicting, so it was Taylor Kitsch.

Channing was working on development for a Gambit film for years. He really cares about the character, like Ryan Reynolds with Deadpool, and an R-rated romantic superhero comedy would play well now, so I hope it gets resurrected.

The issue, if there is an issue with a Channing Tatum-Gambit film, is Channing is just too big of a dude. Maybe he could slim down, because his height works; he's freaking huge in this one. Maybe they got him at a bad time. I love that shot when he started shuffling those cards and wrecking shop in the big battle.

I’d be lying if I said I understood the X-Men film continuity. I’ve read that the Days of Future Past reset the timeline to where Origins never happened. Beyond that, it all makes little sense to me.

Laughed my ass off. Been a while since a movie has made me laugh that hard.

It doesn't make sense to anybody. I think it would have been a cool meta idea if the TVA wanted to destroy the X-Men universe because of the continuity errors. Like time travel has created so many contradictions and paradoxes that the universe is tearing itself apart.
