Couldn't you say the same for literally half the offensive players that beat the Saints last week? The entire Chiefs offense is full of organizational castoffs from other teams.

MVS through 6 games w/BUF: 2 catches on 9 targets for 26 yards, 0 TDs.
Juju didn't even make the Patriots (quite possibly the worst team in the NFL) out of training camp and caught 7 balls for 130 yards last week.

The guaranteed money in wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling's (MVS) one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills is $2.25 million, which includes a $1.125 million signing bonus and a minimum salary of $1.125 million

Not to shabby for 6 games. No snow

So, you think JJSS is going to repeat that performance several times over the next 12 games do you? Are we forgetting that the last time he was on the team after Week 11 or so he basically went to sleep?

And tbf, the Saints defense is ass. They are among the 2-3 worst defenses in the league.

Chiefs have already lost 3 starters on offense...and it's only game 6. MVS knows the complex system Andy runs...

It's a battle of attrition...and being able to bring in someone (with experience in this offense) on the cheap at this point is a prudent move.

He saved KC's ass in the Bengals playoff game... players get hurt.

He's not the greatest WR in world...doesn't have to be. He played his best in the biggest games...there's something to be said for that.

There's a lot of naive folks on this thread.

1. Juju is the one replacing Rice as he literally plays in the slot, knows the system and has a connection with Pat.

2. What are the chances a new guy comes in and picks up the offense straight away? Very slim imo.

3. Folks saying "we don't need another speed guy" so why the feck did Veach sign Brown and draft Worthy then? Brown and Worthy were supposed to be the two outside guys so clearly Reid and Veach had plans to utilise their speed.

4. Veach is not going to trade high draft picks for rentals who might not even pick up the offense properly before they hit free agency.

5. We can all be negative about MVS and yes he had some rough games last year. But the fact is he would be cheap, knows the system and has a proven track record of coming up big when it matters the most.

But hey most of the folks who don't want MVS back are the same folks who didn't want Juju or Kareem back so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

I don't think anything about Juju repeating 130 yard performances. I'm just pointing out that the Chiefs are full of castoffs and they've been making it work with said castoffs for 2 years now.

Saints were also 2nd in DVOA defensively coming into that game FYI

MVS might just be getting his second wind baby. He may just look like Moss second coming.

Bring MVS back. He dropped some passes last year, but he also made some big plays.

Yeah, because they're performances in their first two games inflated their stats. In short, everyone thought DAL was actually good at offense. Sunday, Baker Mayfield threw three INTs and still put 350 yds and 4 TDs on that defense, and Mike Evans basically didn't play after the first quarter. Their starting C was out with injury. It was their starting RT's first game back from Week 1. Their starting RB was out.

And NOR's defense allowed nearly 600 yds of offense and 44 points to a QB most think is trash, and a rookie OC that never called an NFL game until 6 weeks ago.

You cant predict the future...what if Worthy goes down? Chiefs have had a horseshoe up their ass...getting Ju-Ju and Hunt right when they needed them...

It worked because they've had experience in this system....like MVS.
