I know guys. I called him a weak armed, 50/50 gimmick QB too. But the more i think about it, the less i think that's fair.
This. For some reason, people seem to think praising Watson for his amazing rookie season is somehow an indictment on mahomes.

To me, I hope Watson is great. If him and Mahomes develop a long rivarly for the top QB in the AFC/NFL, if would be pretty cool to me.

Nope.

Thing is like the KC Star most of the web sights are going to subscription so its almost a necessity to pay for a subscription somewhere if you are into sports.

I'm a big football and baseball fan but I like the Cards and Chiefs so one place won't get me the articles I am looking for and I got tired of looking all over for info.

DJLN posted a link in the Cards thread to the sight and a few of us have signed up.

So far so good.

What opinion? That he has a weak arm? The combine proves that. I've stated no other opinions.

Detoxing claimed people wanted Mahomes to just "chuck it up", and posted a terrible example of what he thought that meant. I clarified, and posted two examples of "chuck it up" plays that were terrible decisions, yet worked out.

I didn't watch enough Watson to have a strong opinion on his future, but I do think his arm strength could be a problem.

I just feel like a Dak Prescott Year Two Learning Curve may be ahead. Defenses are going to make him beat them by taking away the deep ball and he's going to throw picks. Just my prediction.

My opinion of Watson was formed during preseason (live in Texas, saw all of those games). At that point he could not hit a seam route to save his life. Consistently overthrew his receivers and looked he had no touch. I was quite surprised at the success he seemed to have when the games became real. But I am not sold yet.

I loved reading Seth's stuff before and he does make me give consideration to paying for the site although I seldom pay for anything on the Internet. So yes, it sucks that he is not as available as he used to be. But good for him that he is getting paid for that solid work he does! Bummer for the rest of us though.

His seam throw were high thats for sure, then again he didn't have a NFL TE on the squad all last year.

"Chuck it up" is a relative term. Clearly. As you have yet to really define what that means. Going through Watson's highlights, i didn't find much "chucking up 50/50's" so much as giving his receiver a chance to make a play.

The only play i saw that i would consider a true "chuck it up" came against KC with 20sec on the clock...which is hardly anything worth considering taking into account the circumstances.

And ftr, I couldn't give two shits whether Watson succeeds or not. I do think his lack of arm strength could be an issue, but time will tell.
Im aware of the 49mph figure.

It seems to mean nothing when live action starts though. His arm passes the test. He's proven, in the NFL, that he can deliver the ball with enough velocity to beat defenders. WE have tape of it. You going to argue with the tape? You can't.

Let's see if Watson can make it through an entire season on those balky knees before we include projections of his greatness in the same breath as Mahomes.
