That game would have been the TB debacle part 2 if you were the GM

Being doom and gloom that veach doesn’t know what he’s doing or Reid can’t adapt is something entirely different. I assume that’s the doom and gloom being criticized? Yeah, we shouldn’t doubt these guys. I get it.

But op premise that our WRs other than rashee aren’t very good isn’t wrong. Because cp by now widely acknowledges they’re not very good and we all expect the front office will overhaul our WR room. We built a roster so good that it masked our weaknesses at wr. Which is great but it’s not a mistake veach will make twice. In the process we also learned valuable lessons that were warned about… that we need to help relieve kelce sooner vs later, that we can’t overload on the narrative that mahomes can carry just anybody, and I suspect next year with better weapons we’ll realize that players like mahomes and coaches like Nagy and embree will look way different when they have WRs who can consistently execute. Is this where people are supposed to eat crow? Because it wasn’t wrong

Kelce was just legendary. Really against all odds. Hes better at his position more than Reid. More than Mahomes. He is simply the best ever even if he never got another yard.
My prediction was that the Chiefs would/should eventually move away from WRBC as the season continued to progress and WR's would begin to separate from the pack. I accurately predicted that Rice would see his workload ramp up and become the featured WR as we got closer to the playoffs.

Where I was wrong was in assuming that Toney would actually develop into something.

Right?

Conley is a great story, strung together a damn solid career on middling talent... but he turns like 74 next year IIRC

yeah a little confusing. Does anybody really believe this group is good outside of Rice?

I think it was an ESPN interview with Boomer after the game where said it was drops and penalties were the cause of their offensive issues in the regular season and they needed to ramp up Rice to take the pressure off Kelce. Pretty clear to me they had to change up their offense to make Pat a game manager and make the offense easier for these guys.

Signed, STaylor.
Pretty amazing how no matter how many times it gets explained, people STILL don't understand the point.

By mid season, nobody thought this WR group was acceptable long term. The point was always that we could still win with this group this season, and attack the position in the offseason.

Do you get it yet?

Think they'll realistically carry 3 WRs forward. Rice, Moore, and Watson. Everyone else is either cut or expiring.

adding one veteran and one rookie is my hope for improving the WR position next season.

1. Rice
2. free agent or rookie
3. free agent or rookie
4. Watson
5. It's probably going to be Skyy and you just have to hope he's one of those guys that takes longer to develop before he can contribute much.
6. ?

If Veach can find a cheap WR in free agency like how he finds players like Tranquil and Edwards for the defense and draft one guy that can play, then it will be even easier on the Chiefs to win 3x in a row.

We could also use another running back and we need to keep Jones and Sneed for the 3peat.

I don't want to go into the season with Hardman as the #2 because he did good in the Superbowl.

Im also considering that rice will continue to evolve in the offense. He should be able to take on an expanded route tree next season, making him alot more than a yac monster.

Moore or Hardman next season - who you got?

It's gotta be Hardman, man. And it just doesn't seem close. I just don't see any reason to bring Moore back.

Hardman/Watson at 4/5 and Moore in Carolina for a late round pick sounds a-okay to me.
