Absolutely. They had a favorable schedule but needed the offense to take another step forward to cover for an expected step back on D. It hasn’t. Injuries to Cook have been a factor. And it’s tough to avoid blowouts when you have QBs turning it over and setting up short fields. That drove the blowout loss to Alabama. If you put Jayden Daniels on Mizzou in 2023, and that’s the only change, they absolutely would have played for the conference title and been in the playoff field.
