1. Wentz - I agree. Good start
2. Winston. Seems high to me
3. Mariota
4. Bortles - What??? Uh no!
5. Goff - Not from what I've seen
6. Watson
7. Trubisky
8. Bridgewater
9. Mahomes - Really?? 9?? He sucks at this. He only beats out 3 colossal busts???
10 Lynch. Now that seems accurate but Mahomes is just one spot above this bust??
11. Manuel
12. Manzel

He's only played one game. Him not being placed high on this list at this stage isn't surprising. After this upcoming season there's gonna be a hell of a lot of people on his jock.

Extra starts would help. But he showed more in that one start than just about every quarterback on the list. Truth be told, Mahomes, Trubisky, and Watson should have all been omitted from the list. None of them have had even a full season to evaluate. And a full season would still not really be enough to make a real judgement on.

Wentz and Mahomes are the only superior talents I see.

1. Wentz - this is a fluid assessment. Right now he looks like a more athletic Rapelisburger. But if the injuries start to pile up, he could go the way of Carson Palmer.

2. Mahomes - dude has the right mindset to get his skillset into a productive framework. Needs the franchise to help him with the O-line and defense.

Manziel is an enigma. He has skills to compete, but has no discipline in either his off-field appetites or his commitment to learning the pro game. If he landed a spot with the right guru, he could still blossom into a skilled improviser, a quicker more wily version of Flutie.

Winston is a walking brainfart. All of Favre's slinging aspirations with no situational awareness. That EZ INT falling on his butt told his story.

Watson is riding high on chuck and pray theatrics from his receivers. The epitome of fun QBing that falls on its face when presented with competent opposition.

Goff is supremely lacking in talent, but is surrounded by so much that it will likely be masked for a few years.

Bridgewater is already falling apart. He's on the RGIII track already.

Trubisky's best chit in his favor is his new coaching regime. He's a journeyman, analogous to Jeff Garcia. But there is hope for optimism with good coaching.

The rest are utter meh.

Yes I am. Laugh away. I'm not the one that has been duped into thinking that the big bullshit theory and the evolution theory are actually real science. Anyone with an open mind would realize that those insane theories violate multiple LAWS of real science.

I'm trying to get on everyone's page. Because if history is any indication, if a fan 'enjoys' the Chiefs the 'wrong way' they are in for a world of hurt from a vindictive fanbase.

I watch lots of football, more than just the Chiefs. I saw plenty of 'fun' FB from the likes of Marino's Dolphins, the Lions of the past decade, the Cowboys under Romo, the Colts before Manning got a defense to help him, Cunningham and Moss with the Vikings, etc. etc.

Do we want fun, or do we want to win a championship.

And while we're at it, why do we even pay non-QBs to play for us? We don't respect them. We don't like them. They're apparently ornaments. We gave millions to Houston, DJ, Berry, Priest, LJ, Charles, Gonzo, Roaf, Waters, etc. etc. for absolutely no value. Shouldn't we propose they play for us for the opportunity to raise their profile so they can make their wasted millions elsewhere for inferior teams?

If you're a Chiefs fan, be a fan of the Chiefs. If you're a fan of fun QB play, just admit it proudly.
Fun and championships are not mutually exclusive ya know. Since we had little to none with Smith, it isn't hard to understand the vitriol, especially on this board. Yes, I am a huge fan of fun QB play. In fact, winning a championship doesn't really "do" anything to me, as much as being entertained week in and week out by a rare skill set on live TV. So if you aren't going to be entertaining, at least reward the regular season slog with something.

If Mahomes has Marino's career, will you be satisfied? How about Cunningham's, or Stafford's or Romo's?

Here's what I think is happening here: the Chiefs have been stuck in perpetual and unprecedented playoff mediocrity for years. The majority of the fanbase doesn't even get excited when the Chiefs make the playoffs because, well, Chiefs and their amazing ability to find new ways to break hearts.

The one constant through all of this - this being the Bono/Grbac/Green/Cassel/Smith carousel - has been the lack of a true franchise QB and in particular one that's actually homegrown.

The narrative is that the Chiefs have been half-assing it for the last fifty years, and with Mahomes, they are finally attempting to be aggressive and try something NEW.

New matters. New is fun. I was a bigger supporter of Alex Smith than 98% of the people on CP, but after they somehow found a way to lose to the Titans, I didn't care if this were his fault, the defense's fault, whatever. I just knew the Chiefs needed to do something different because the old way just wasn't working.

That's why people are excited about Mahomes. He represents rolling the dice a little more aggressively at a position that has been our Achilles Heel for a generation.

Mahomes Awareness

I'm on record in this thread saying Mahomes play at QB looks like an infield position is baseball.

Watch the play near the end of the first half against Denver. Mahomes makes the decision to run for the pylon similar to a golden glover.

I thought the sole landmark for success and enjoyability was a SB championship. Now it seems anyone who isn't content with offseason daydreaming about 'exciting' QB play, regardless of the franchise accomplishments, is as verboten as expressing any excitement about team progress from the depths of ignominy was in recent history.
Why the **** have you chosen THIS PARTICULAR MOMENT to adopt these views? There was a time years ago when you were on Clay's nuts just as much as everybody else was for shitting on the Chiefs. NOW you decide to guarded about the team? When we have the most talented QB in team ****ing history (No, Montana v.42000 years old isn't more talented than Mahomes) NOW you decide to warn people about getting too excited about this team?

That's the shit we're talking about. Go ahead and be worried about the defense. I certainly am. I don't think we're primed for the playoffs necessarily with that potentially awful unit. But when you spew these "cautionary" posts dressed up as reeruned "GAWRSH MAHOMES IS SO GREAT I HOPE HE DOESN'T THROW A FOOTBALL INTO THE MOON AND DESTROY IT, BRINGING ABOUT THE END OF THE WORLD!" type of oversensitive garbage, all you do is piss everybody off.

WE'RE enjoying the QB. For now. Eventually we'll expect team success. But for now we're super excited to watch his growth and development. Sorry you're still pining for 10-6 seasons and first round playoff exits to the ****ing Titans at the hands of Alex.

Your choice to be a dipshit. Get a clue.
