In all my years of watching soccer, I've never seen an indirect free kick be given for the six second rule. Unbelievable call, given the stage of the game.

And a handball has to be deemed deliberate for a kick to be awarded. Considering it was a rocket and the Canadians didn't throw their arms out at the ball (they didn't have the time to), it's a bit hard to understand that one too.

If the US goes on to win this as I expect they will, Canada will have most certainly been screwed.

I've never seen an indirect free kick like that either, but I have seen that call for a handball.

If your arm is outside the frame of your body, whether you had intent or not, it's going to get called.

The most recent example I can remember seeing is when David Alaba of Bayern München was called for one versus Real Madrid in the Champions League semi final this past season. He went down for a block in the box and braced his fall with his hand. The shot on goal deflected off his forearm. Penalty. He wasn't trying to block it with his arm but he also didn't have his arm tuck in like he should have. It's a legit call in my view.
