*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Sorry Clay, but your track record is a really good sign for thing to come..
I'm thrilled.

As soon as Mahomes gets on the field I can watch Chiefs games with hopeful anticipation instead of eye-rolling disgust and resignation.

I think everyone of us knows Mahomes makes that pass to Hill would have been made against the Steelers... even if he bailed out of the pocket early like Smith did.

I know you said you didn't want this to happen, but doesnt it feel great anyway? Knowing there is potentially a long term solution to the qb position.

Dorsey gave up 2 second round picks for Alex Smith on the thought that Reid could fix him. He had shown promise and it was a good stabilizer to bring this team back from the depths. But now we have stacked this team with a lot of good players and we still have 8 picks left in this draft. Dorsey thought well enough of Mahomes to give up 2 first round picks so I am on board and if he busts do it again. Getting the right QB is the only move that can bring this team out of the playoff limbo we have been in since the late 80's.

It's a great relief to have any kind of freedom from Alex Smith, retreads or game managers to be named later.

I really hope I'm wrong about him and will happily eat crow if I am. Happy that we picked a QB tho.

Either way, the trade up wasn't as costly as I expected. If Mahomes turns out to be the guy, cool, not a bad price to pay. But if he busts and Foster turns into the next Patrick Willis or Ray Lewis, oh boy.
If Mahomes ends up being special, the Chiefs will win a Superbowl.

If Foster ends up being special and the Chiefs picked him, they are still on the outside looking in.
