Time Protocol (NTP). NTP is a system that ensures accurate timekeeping across devices connected to the internet.

Here’s a simple breakdown of how it works:

Time Servers: There are many highly accurate and reliable time servers around the world. These servers get their time from reference clocks, like atomic clocks, which are extremely precise.

NTP Protocol: Devices on the internet use the NTP protocol to communicate with these time servers and get the current time.

Synchronization: The NTP client (the device) adjusts its own clock based on the information received from the time server. This process can happen frequently, ensuring that the device’s time remains accurate.

If you’re curious, NTP has been around since the 1980s, making it one of the oldest internet protocols still in use today!

For the record I have no illusion a post made on CP has an influence on the outcome of any NFL game.

Correct. That is why I synchronized my Windows clock 10 minutes before midnight.

My computer's clock was 100% accurate, per clock.windows.com.

I clicked submit thread at 12 AM.

Obviously the CP server clock was not synchronized.

Neither one of you dicklicks gets to start a single thread next year. This needs to be brought to a community vote and the mods need to snip your nuts(thread starting privs) so you don't get any ideas.
All wrought, of course, from him needing to start every game thread this season. Very greedy, and wrong. I attempted to slay this beast, but the CP server was not up to the task.

Nope my fault. I watched the game from somewhere other than my home. I'm 3-0 at home and 0-2 at other people's homes.

To me this is more the fault of Tribal Warfare being an ass throughout the whole playoff run. Dude should have thread starting privileges revoked permanently.

Pretty much everyone on here wanted me starting gameday threads.

I, of course, would have been fine clicking the thread start button at 12:00:30 AM, just to be safe. I've often thought the CP server was not up to date, and best to give it a bit of leeway.

But Tribal forced my hand. I knew I could not let that mojo-destroying cretin have any postseason gameday threads. Not with the way he petulantly persisted even after two consecutive postseason GDT starters resulted in wins.

This man started what, 19, 20 gameday threads this year? The man has an issue. Mental problems, perhaps.

Anyway, I'll never start another gameday thread after this. And neither should he.

The only traitor here is clearly Tribal Warfare. His lust and gluttony for gameday threads was the original sin. He forced my hand. He forced me to be SO precise in starting the gameday thread, that the CP server could not rise to my level of commitment.

Traitor: Tribal Warfare
Loser: CP server
Coward: Mods for not removing Tribal Warfare's thread starting privileges

If any one of these problems had been corrected prior to 12 AM, we aren't having this discussion.
