How a pair of attention whores destroyed any ounce of credibility they ever had

Enjoy. And **** EB.

How a season-long rift between Mahomes and Bieniemy ruined the AFC Championship

I've got no idea. I've tried to block it out.

All that said, I don't think there's any obvious reason to believe EB is more at fault than anyone else. He's just a convenient scapegoat.

(And note: I don't think EB is back with the team next year, but that's just moving on and natural attrition.)

There are only 32 head coaching jobs in the NFL. They require a lot more than just being an OC to attain. Entirely possible he wasn't a good interview. Entirely possible his past at Colorado hurt him. Entirely possible his other history hurt him. And entirely possible he wasn't able to escape from said history and get out from under the shadow of Andy Reid and the wing of Patrick Mahomes.

I never thought EB was that special because I felt he was largely a product of Mahomes. Same as I felt Fangio would've never been Broncos coach had the Bears not traded for Khalil Mack.

But you don't get to write an article that reads like you're sophisticated journalists and it's okay if only 50% of what you have to share is true and the other 50% is made up. That's the problem here.

I somehow don't think Clay and Marty became the KC Woodward and Bernstein and outscooped every other journalist who would've loved to break this news if it were true. I think their standards were rock bottom, they took what was given to them, and they wove a narrative that they felt suited their purposes and "made sense" based on their priors and the priors of a lot of the fanbase.

There's nothing admirable about that.
My prior views were confirmed by prior articles written years ago at his jobs at different schools and seeing some of the behavior displayed his time here only adds to that.

If other journalists in town actually did their job maybe this article doesn't get written but the truth is the media in this town is so bad and to have one guy take time to make an account on here and offer one response? Kinda odd.

I also disagree with you on Albright. He's broke some pretty big stories like Tua last summer, Ruggs, etc. I can understand why you think the story was done in poor taste I just find it a bit ironic these local media folks are acting like it's so outrageous yet all there shows were gladly covering it today for ratings.

This.

Dysfunction in the family and who likes to honestly admit and own dysfunctional behavior in the family? What is true and how bad is it ?? Truth is usually somewhere in the middle as arrwheader has stated IMHO.

IMHO the players especially are put in a difficult position because they want to tow the company line(support EB) yet raise the red flag(to support Pat) because EB does have a history and it's rearing it's ugly head again. IMHO Eric calling Mahomes a "competitive prick" was EB's way of saying Pat likes to change/audible away many of my calls and this pisses me off". Also furthers the narrative that Mahomes makes EB, that he EB wants to get out from under Pat's shadow so EB needs total control for his EGO.

I am sure if this rift goes back as long as the article states, I assure there is a pissing contest between them among their egos that may be unspoken much of the time where both say to themselves after each game, (EB speaking)"Out of the total # of offensive plays today Pat only audibled out of 10% of them and that's a good day for me because he is learning I am in control". (Pat now speaking), "All my audibles today were big gainers and 3 scores and why he does not trust me more to audible because of what I see is beyond me". And the frustration leading to resentment grows from there in both resenting each other.

So owners see 2 things, EB's history of being temperamental (because everyone knows everyone and talks) and (2)who wouldn't be a successful OC if PM2 was your QB with Reid looking over your shoulder. EB is stuck between a rock and a hard place here because of his own immature behavior and NOT Andy or Pat because Pederson and Nagy got jobs.

What the Chiefs Brass do at this point in the next 24-48hrs with this alleged story out there will be very telling one way or the other. I don't think they can ignore it and will have to address it further because now the national press has a hold of it and now becomes a "prairie fire" for sure that will have them come knocking and asking the hard questions IMHO.

As far as the local radio media there of course they aren't going to break any stories that are negative. They want to retain their press passes and still be invited to all the luncheons, banquets, golf tournaments to rub shoulders.

But IMHO I believe there is some truth here, it's just how much ?? But something happened in that locker room for sure because that was a total Jekyl/Hyde switch in the 2nd half where Mahomes IMHO was intimidated NOT to make a mistake only to make more by either pressing or not pulling the trigger.

That is just crazy !! But when you think about it, it is a back handed compliment of sorts because their egos can't believe Mahomes played that bad so he must have thrown it.
