Any salsa from a jar is bad, honestly dont make my own very often because my grocer has a reasonable fresh-pack brand that works out ok

That's either the tiniest burrito I've seen or the largest taquito!

Did you trim it at all, seasoning before vacuum sealing? After cooling to room temp did you rub it? temp when off smoker I saw this done they smoked for 3 hrs, then in for a swim. then charred. I am going to do one smoked, then in for a swim, and them grilled so I am very interested in smoke ring and flavor. It looks great. I have a butt on now..That I need to flip.. It's looking good. thx

Wife and I went to a new Jamaican place yesterday.
Wife's peppered steak was excellent. My jerk chicken was overcooked, but the flavor of their spice and sauce was really good. Made me want to make jerk at home, so I'm making up a rub/marinade tonight. The chicken probably would have been fine if they'd have given me the more-forgiving dark meat. Also had fried plantains (very good) and "festival bread," which is a fried cornmeal dough (heavenly). |

Wife and I went to a Southern Fry restaurant near us on Saturday. You know it's legit when it's run by African-Americans and you are the only white people eating dinner there. Everything cooked to order.
Fried wings, fried chicken, fried chicken tenders, fried catfish, fried shrimp. Catfish or shrimp Po-boys. Sides-- Fries, Mac N Cheese, Coleslaw, Potato Salad, Greens, Yams Corn bread muffins. Outstanding catfish and chicken tenders. Great homemade Mac N Cheese and the fries were perfectly cooked. 9.2/10

But absolutely true. I was back home at my parents this last weekend and went to an old faithful catfish place in northern Arkansas close to where I grew up. Still great. It's tough to beat good fried catfish and hush puppies, brown beans and fried potatoes I had to do like 2 hours on the bike the next day but worth it |

My wife loves sloppy joes and I just don't care for them in general. I'll tell her we will have it and put it off for weeks until I'm forced to. But I think that's because I grew up eating a ton of Manwich and that stuff sucks.
Making your own sloppy joe mix is very easy and tasty and I don't know why I just don't do it more often instead of thinking of that canned crap. The baby was all about it and he isn't keen on ground beef so I figure I'll start making my own more often. Sloppy joes and tater tots. Easy is best on Monday nights. |
