You have the ultimate team in Kansas City - they win games all year with different phases stepping up to the plate, they never show frustration with each other, no distrust, they just always expect the others on the team to step up when it's time. With Philly, I don't see it. This is not a team. This is a roster of tremendous talent thrown together by Howie Roseman that often overwhelms their opponents with physical ability alone. They ain't doing that to Kansas City. |

Verderame brought up something really interesting. Saquon is not a big receiving back with the Eagles. They haven’t used him that way.
4 receptions at most in any game. Only 2 receiving TD’s this entire season. 8 targets 7 receptions 32 yards 0 TD’s Those are his receiving stats this postseason. He’s dangerous but I think McCaffrey was more dangerous bc he was an elite caliber receiving back.

And beyond what Staylor just said, their DL had to hold Sirianni back from Jalen Carter during a game just a month ago
Jalen Hurts said post-NFCCG, "coach let me out of the straight jacket" That's just the tip of the iceberg. Nevermind that we saw this team melt down last year unlike any other. |

So that's one less thing to worry about. Don't ask me why I'm just not concerned about Barkely. And I could end up being wrong but we heard all this same shit last year facing CMC and he made no impact in the SB. Spags just seems to know what it is we need to do to take away teams best guys. |

Stolen from that ****-o Warren Sharp,
Hurts when under pressure this year: #37 of 37 QBs in EPA/att #37 of 37 QBs in success rate #33 of 37 QBs in sack rate #32 of 37 QBs in YPA Such a great matchup for us IMO. Spags is going to come after his ass. |

Wasn't it Brady who said that Hurts is not the same (paraphrasing) when he has to hold onto the ball for 3-4 seconds?

Good God. I said earlier I thought he had regressed but that's really bad.

Me thinks our physical approach to coverage will indeed force him to hold it. |

It's interesting the Eagles haven't used Barkley much in the passing game but maybe they were saving it for bigger games. This would be that game. The Rams game was a shitfest with the weather and they had several big run plays anyway. The Commanders kept turning the ball over and giving the Eagles shorter fields which changes the gameplan. If I'm the Eagles, I put Barkley in space against the Chiefs LBs as much as possible. Same with Goedert. Most teams in the league would struggle covering TEs and RBs when there's two great WRs to also worry about. Also, try to isolate Cook and Johnson/Connor. Spags has shown he trusts Cook and these rookies CBs despite their struggles, though Hicks is also a rookie. Even the best coaches have their favorite pets that get more playing time than they should. This is a game where Watson and McDuffie should be on Brown/Smith and Williams is the 3rd CB. Hicks is more athletic than Cook and should take most of his snaps. We can't do anything about LBs in coverage so Tranquill will be out there on many passing plays. No depth options that are better, unlike at other defensive positions. Last edited by Gary Cooper; Today at 10:08 AM.. |
