How many guys get a hand on that ball? Very few find it, fewer still adjust to it and I'm not sure I can come up with a guy with the body control to make that play on it.

Berry doesn't make that play, gents. Harrison Smith doesn't either. Earl Thomas does in his heyday but I'm not sure he has the raw athleticism anymore to get himself turned and tracking that ball.

That's a touchdown vs. damn near any other team in the league.

Mahomes should do this every time corners line up with a cushion.

Force those bitches to be men and play press against Tyreek and Sammy

It might not have mattered anyway. Mahomes has a nifty tendency to just shrug off would be sackers or he'll try to stay up just long enough to make the pass anyway. awesome.

Totally forgot about that play.

Anybody expect that kind of power from Sammy? He just drove the CB forward for 2-3 more yards. If he doesn't get those extra yards, who knows what happens on 3rd? If it's still just that little half-scramble thing from Mahomes that picked up 3 on 3rd and 2, we don't get a 1st down there and the TD to Hill doesn't happen 2 plays later.

Not a game-altering play in all likelihood, but one that caught me off guard for sure. Smart veteran move to not try to juke the guy like so many WRs would and instead just power through him for the extra yardage.

I think most games will end up being "The [X] Game" in some way. This team just has so many different ways to beat teams that they'll end up getting schemed one way and go the other.

Yesterday was obviously "The Hill Game". The Chiefs ran some RPO that Mahomes turned into throws (evidently Hill's slant was, according to the radio; hard to tell). The Chargers kept lining up in a 46 look and the Chiefs were content attacking that downfield. But teams aren't gonna keep doing that.

So at some point we'll have "The Kelce Game" and "The Wakins Game" and "The Hunt Game" and the "Mahomes just made me cum myself into the hospital" game.

There are gonna be a lot of theme games. I'm not sure Watkins will be an integral part of the offense on a week to week basis, but there will be a Watkins Game or 2.

I still think we overpaid for him and he's a poor allocation of resources, but he's ours now so we might as well get as much from him as possible.

Agreed. I'm already being driven nuts by morons who are mad because Kelce and Hunt weren't involved. They will get theirs.

Grunny and Petro were just discussing how the Chargers game planned against Hunt, and they were playing the run most of the game, so the Chiefs gameplan to just sling it around was a great counter attack.

That's really what I meant. I didn't mean that the dude was going to get 8-9 targets a game or anything. I fully expect our offense to become a "pick your poison" offense.

I think Hunt was probably supposed to be involved. And let's not act like he was completely left out; he got 16 carries. 16 carries/gm puts him in the top 10 of NFL runningbacks last season.

The issue was that he wasn't terribly effective and the Chargers kept stuffing the box (foolishly, IMO). Mahomes checked out of at least 1 run, IIRC, and the RPO's almost always went in the air.

I mean he wasn't invisible - the Chargers just set out to stop him and instead got wrecked by the speed guys.

Beautiful play and recognition by Mahomes. If you have a gun like that, you've got 4-5 easy yards.

Yeah. Watkins is an animal. I don’t know what he’s going to end up doing for us but he is an animal.
