IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

This is the most excited I've ever been about the Chiefs in February. I'll probably be able to say the same thing for March, April, May, June, July, and August.

I feel like the hype is too much as he has just played one regular season game.

Unless he gets injured, next season, I don't see how Mahomes gets anything short of close to 4000 yards and more than 20 TDs but around 15 INTs is also very possible.

And if it is the case, it wouldn't be that bad for his first full season but some of you sound like he will for sure be a top 5 QB next season.

My guess would be 4400 yards, 26 TDs and 12 INTs.

"Remember the Chiefs played in Super Bowl I. There were (players like) Buck Buchanan or Bobby Bell or Willie Lanier... who were just emerging. That's kind of where our team is now. Mahomes, as I said when he beat Denver with basically our JVs, Wyatt Earp just rolled into town," Holthus said. "Wild Bill Hickock. I said it's the Chisolm Trail and we're in Abieline, Kansas in 1872. That's who's taking over, with a very talented, explosive group around him. I would say get ready. I got a text just two days ago from someone who you would know but I can't say but it's a private text that said 'Get ready. Get ready for a ride.' That's what I would tell Chiefs Kingdom: Get ready for a ride."

Let's be clear here...

Buck & Bobby were drafted in 1963 & Willie was drafted along with Jim Lynch in 1967.

This would be phenomenal for a first year starter.

I dont expect it, but i wouldn't be surprised if it was that good or even better. Kids got "it" man.

Mahomes will have a very strong and impressive year, so long as he can take the hits and keep both his health and his composure.

Kareem Hunt, Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce, Chris Conley. If all these guys stay healthy I can absolutely see this kid throwing 30 TD’s.

I agree. If Smith can throw 26 being one of the worst red zone QBs in the league then Mahomes can absolutely throw 30.

Forget his numbers. Will his first year be better than Alex Smith's best?
