Hmmm seems like an easy thing for the defense to key in on then if true. I remember seeing Skyy out there for 69% of snaps based on snap data someone posted so does not seem to track.

Yes, we ran the ball or threw quick hitters, literally pass and throw on all but 4-5 of his snaps. If you don't have the All-22, the regular broadcast shows most of his snaps and his responsibilities as they were either run plays are thrown under 1.5 seconds to the primary.

These WRs have gotten progressively worse since Week 5. Essentially, it's a coinflip if they catch it, and a fairly high chance of an INT if they don't.

But I agree with you about Pat over-thinking things. Among other things, I think he's unwilling to pull the trigger unless the situation is perfect. And these guys don't catch the ball if he just rips it in there; they tend to drop it. Or deflect it into a defender. It looks like he's trying to be 'extra' perfect with his ball placement and velocity, which is resulting in some hesitations and some poor passes. JMO on that last sentence.

Ah, okay. that might explain the lack of yardage for the catch. Just shows a target and a catch, no yards.

No, not those. I was thinking of earlier in the season. Pretty sure one was in the Week 1 game. Not sure when the other was. Or if there were more than just the two.

The big one was Toneys through the hands pick 6. I don't know if there were any others caused by drops?

And what happens when he does deliver the right play which is the majority of the time? wR runs a clumsy route, ball is incomplete, it’s 2nd and 10 which to this team has become a mountain to climb. So the idea that he should just throw it doesn’t hang together either. Andy Reid knows this. That’s why the past 2 weeks he’s realized that the best way to avoid mistakes is to have 2-3 guys out there run as decoys

****ing YIKES.
The INT rate on Skyy Moore targets is 1 INT every 11.67 targets (2 seasons)

If every WR on the Chiefs had the same INT rate this season, Patrick Mahomes would have 22 interceptions.

Well, when they are running good routes right now, he is not delivering the ball and is hesitating. You can scream at the sky all you want, but film don't lie... Yes, his WR's haven't been great, but when they run a correct route and are open and Pat doesn't throw it, that's a problem.

there was at least one other, but can't remember which game anymore. Might rewatch a couple games from the first 5-6 weeks and see if I can find it. All I really remember anymore is that Pat threw a laser at the guy, and it went through his hands, deflected upwards, and landed in a defender's hands.

It happens occasionally when you have a QB that has the kind of arm Pat has, but if the ball hits you in both hands, it really should be caught, imo.

The one to Toney was just a flat out drop, one of many by the WR's that day, and started the distrust, but Pat has to get past that and start winging it again, and he will. There may have been another, but I can't remember it right now, but those last two I just can't believe he threw them. I think he's pissed and our backs are against the wall, so we are going to get the best of Pat on Sunday, I just hope the WR's don't let him down.

What's different? The OC and the WR coach.

For the most part, Mahomes has time, so other than the penalties on the OT's, I'm not seeing protection as the problem. (The penalties ARE a problem of course, but I'm setting that aside for the moment.)
I think that EB must have exceled at identifying our plays, or plays we could run, that directly attack what the defense struggles with.

Nagy just seems to suggest plays for the game plan that have nothing to do with being successful against a specific defense.

He is in love with sideline to sideline plays, ridiculous wildcat formations near the red zone, and there isn't really any discernable theme to the plays outside the script.

I remember several times, especially in the SB, where EB was credited with having identified a play that would be perfect against the defense.

Mahomes plays better when he is fired up. I don't know, and neither do any of us that weren't on the sidelines, but it seems like EB didn't care about ruffling Mahomes' feathers, and Nagy seems like he just wants to replace Kelce as Mahomes' buddy.

Whatever the combination of things, Nagy sucks. He acts like he has Alex Smith at QB.

Good analysis by Chris Long… the Chiefs need to stop doubling down on the Skyy Moore epic fail.

Mvs/skyy/Watson only had 7 targets and had 2 blown routes on them. There’s a 25% chance he’ll throw to the right spot and the WR won’t be there. He doesn’t have the luxury of throwing his guys open. Or throwing 50/50 balls or passes where the WR does the final heavy lifting. He doesn’t even have the luxury always of throwing to the right spot.

Of course he’s hesitant. It’s not about running the right routes every now and then. It’s the consistency that’s missing.

it's amazing that national analysts pay attention to the chiefs at the level they know minutiae about our 4th WR
