Besides, it's always fun to jab at Mizzou fans. They are very touchy about their lack of any substantive success in athletics.

So they have a say in how KU and the rest of the Big(now)8 end up?

Nobody would leave the SEC. so the other 3 leagues:
1. BIG has the highest per team payout $54m. 2. PAC is on a geographic island 3. ACC Locked In TV deal until 2036 So those leagues really don’t have many (any?) options. KU hoops is the only premier brand out there but only the BIG makes any sense but KU won’t clear the $54m avg payout threshold. The BIG can’t poach the ACC for 15 more years and I doubt they do some massive weird merger with the PAC. |

KU's problem is cbball is a deteriorating product and has been so for the last decade. Ratings have tanked and I'm not sure anyone outside of a few bball hotbeds even watches it anymore.

I think we can unanimously agree MLB is unwatchable on TV in its current state.

People are “sports’d out”. Too many games too many teams via expansion. Being on TV back in the 80s or 90s was a big deal.
Also people prob worn out by Covid. Realizing sports isn’t that crucial. The blatant money grabs are a turnoff. Also, when lockdowns started people realized they could live without sports anyway. |

As opposed to watching MLB games in person?
