Kevin Harland should be CBS #1 announcer

This game just hi-lighted how good Harlan is as a commentator. I have no idea why Nantz is their #1. I think Green is a dependable color commentator but admit Romo is a better analyst. I think Harlan and Romo should be CBS #1 team.

Harlan describes the game better. He’s better pointing out which player did what. He is more emotionally invested in the game without being a Homer for either team. Nantz seems to have the personality of wet cardboard. Also, he seems to root for whoever is playing KC, although that could be me.

The downside to KC’s quality play is us getting Nantz and Romo. As frustrating as this game was, at least Harlan was in the booth and not Nantz.

No shit. Seriously, who is so much better or frankly different? Harlan gets an A+ for enthusiasm and energy. He's fun and funny. I get jettio doesn't like him, but he's in a HUGE minority. All the whining and froth-mouthed freak outs are not going to change anyone's mind.

I don't remember much complaining about it at the time, but it really pissed me off. It was like he was severely disappointed. I think Joe Buck is fine, but that call was unbelievably awful when you consider the fact that it was the game-sealing TD and everyone watching knew it.

The fact you don’t like Harlan says it all.

You deserve to listen to Don Criqui and Beasley Reece on an endless loop.

I was yelling so ****ing loud it didn't matter...heh...

...but in seeing it again, it was a pretty underwhelming call for sure.

Bring back Madden/Summerall. Brett Favre.....Brett Favre......Brett Favre.

What do I know, though? I still think Vince McMahon was the best wrestling announcer.

I’m genuinely convinced that Harlan deliberately tried to jinx the faiders’ kicker on that missed field goal after Harlan went out of his way to mention the kicker’s streak. I laughed my ass off after he said it and just knew that he wanted the kicker to miss. (Somehow reminded me of years past when he would do an interview on 810 before a before a game and agree to sneak some obscure word or sentence into the broadcast… and then actually followed through with it.)

I don't believe in jinxes but I did laugh pretty hard at that missed FG.

Romo sucks these days. He started off just amazing, but is nearly unlistenable these days.

This.

Year one, he was great.

Nw I can't stand him. He was begging for an Eagles fumble late in the game. Its like instead of talking about certain situations, which he is good at talking about, he's now simply reacting, yelling fumble, blowing up a situation that doesn't deserve to be blown up at all.

Ian Eagle has always been good at calling Chiefs games, but his current partner Charles Davis thinks he gets paid by the word and is always saying something simplistic in between every play. And Charles Davis tends to assume the official got the call right before watching the replay and on the few occasions when he says the official might be wrong, Davis is usually wrong himself.

Ian Eagle was truly great at describing Tyreek, Mahomes and Kelce plays when they were emerging stars.

I also appreciate that Ian Eagle does not do the Jim Nantz, Tony Romo, Kevin Harlan and Trent Green self-conscious pumping up of the Chiefs opponent as if viewers would tune out the game if they did not exaggerate the other team's chance to compete with the Chiefs.

And after doing the pump up of Chiefs opponent bullshit, they all sound like cheated-on spouses if the Chiefs actually fall behind or lose the game.

Of the CBS crews that get Chiefs games, Ian Eagle is the best play-by-play because he has a good voice and appropriate enthusiasm and he is not as phony as Nantz and Harlan with their fake enthusiasm about the chances of the Chiefs opponent.

Romo was decent until he got the big pay raise. Now he does like Rocky Marciano was described in Sports Illustrated after retirement. he would show up to your event if you paid him with a bag of cash and provided a whore, but not have any real enthusiasm for being there. Except for Romo it is probably greens fees at the best course in town with a group of players that bet but are not that good instead of the whore.
