*** 2018 Prospect Tracker: Chiefs Interest / Visits / Work Outs ***
Annnnd another playoff run, and a winning season has us drafting at the tail end of each round, except this year, we *currently* don't have a 1st round pick.
This is the 7th year in a row that we will be tracking the college players the Chiefs have publicly or privately expressed interest in leading up to the NFL Draft. Here's how we did in 2017. We've done better in the previous years, but not so much last year, one of the many reasons I was slow to start one this year. After a few DM's, I decided to do it again as we run up to the final month. For those who are new, the way this operates is that we collectively monitor various social media sources, blogs, articles and reports for news of the Chiefs' interest in a certain player. When posted in this thread, I will update the OP to include the player. *Please provide the link to the article, the players name, position and team. I am going to try to link to player profiles when they exist, courtesy of draftbreakdown.com, or the NFL Draft Tracker. For some of the lesser-known guys, it may just be a random video or profile from their team website. Let's meet some of our future Chiefs: 2018 Draft - Chiefs Prospect Tracker Offense QB Chase Litton, Marshall -- CHIEF Tanner Lee, Nebraska Logan Woodside, Toldeo Riley Ferguson, Memphis Alex McGough, Florida International Jesse Ertz, Kansas State RB Ish Witter, Mizzou Akrum Wadley, Iowa Ryan Nall, Oregon State (FB) Nick Bawden, San Diego State (FB) WR Davon Grayson, ECU Robert Foster, Alabama Jordan Lasley, UCLA Jaleel Scott, New Mexico State Equanimeous St. Brown, Notre Dame Auden Tate, FSU James Washington, Oklahoma State Dylan Cantrell, Texas Tech Keke Coutee, Texas Tech Martez Valdez-Scantling, South Florida Elijah Marks, Northern Arizona --CHIEF Daurice Fountain, Northern Iowa Dominic Collins, Mizzou Anthony Miller, Memphis Byron Pringle, K-State -- CHIEF TE Mark Andrews, Oklahoma Ian Thomas, Indiana Jordan Akins, UCF Tyler Conklin, Cent Mich Chris Herndon, Miami Dallas Goedert, South Dakota State Durham Smythe, Notre Dame Jordan Thomas, Mississippi State David Wells, San Diego State Ben Johnson, Kansas OT Joseph Noteboom, TCU Martinas Rankin, Mississippi State Tyrell Crosby, Oregon Jamarco Jones, Ohio State Jamil Demby, Maine Aaron Evans, Central Florida G Will Hernandez, UTEP Jamil Demby, Maine Colby Gossett, Appalachian State Braden Smith, Auburn Adam Ploudre, Mizzou C Brian Allen, MSU Mason Cole, Michigan Frank Ragnow, Arkansas Patrick Morris, TCU Defense CB Jaire Alexander, Louisville Donte Jackson, LSU Tarvarus McFadden, FSU Rashaan Gaulden, Tennessee Carlton Davis, Auburn Nick Nelson, Wisconsin Brandon Facyson, Virginia Tech Greg Stroman, Virginia Tech Chandon Sullivan, Georgia State Darius Phillips, Western Michigan Mike Hughes, Central Florida Chris Campbell, Penn State Joshua Kalu, Nebraska Malik Reaves, Villanova Tremon Smith, Central Arkansas -- CHIEF S Armani Watts, Texas A&M -- CHIEF Trey Walker, Louisiana-Lafayette Siran Neal, Jacksonville State Troy Apke, Penn State DeShon Elliott, Texas Justin Reid, Stanford Kyzir White, West Virginia Kameron Kelly, San Diego State Jeremy Reaves, South Alabama C.J. I don’t see what’s so funny. He’s a round 2-3 prospect according to most. I think he’s a 2nd round talent, but the only real consensus is that he’s a top 100 player and a day 2 pick. Besides, I wasn’t even saying he will be there, because he shouldn’t. I was just saying where I would be willing to take him if I’m the Chiefs. We can’t afford to spend our 2nd on a WR.
I got him at the end of the 3rd in the CP mock FWIW. That means nothing, but I’ve seen plenty of mocks with him in the 3rd. I think you look at your grades as gospel, which proves my point about you being an annoyingly arrogant poster at times. Guys go lower than you’d expect every year. We don’t have the resources to scout these guys like the pros. There’s so much we don’t know and you aren’t aware of that at all. With all that said, I thought you blocked me? You accused me of trying to get the last word yet you continued to reply even after threatning to block me like a pillowbitergot. I decide to let you get the last word and end your butthurt, then you engage me in another thread. You’re a strange dude. Last edited by staylor26; 04-17-2018 at 08:23 PM.. |

Then who are you basing it on?
Based on where guys like Matt Miller, Scott Wright, Lan Zierlein/nfl.com, Daniel Jeremiah, and Mike Mayock have him ranked he’s a late 2nd-3rd round prospect. Most of those guys have him in round 3. You’re full of ****ing shit if you say otherwise. |

Looking at the number of prospects they've met with CB and Edge rushers are top priority. On offense its clear they'd like another TE/WR

He's the safest WR prospect in the draft, again according to several of these guys. Many other guys have endorsed his play, like Steve Smith. So now that these media pundits have written some scouting reports listing him as a 2nd to 3rd prospect, he's going to drop from late 1st consideration to midway through the 3rd? I doubt it. I'd say they have it right in saying 2nd round. He's rated by most outlets in the top 6 to 7 receivers in the draft. It depends on who you read. My personal thought? He doesn't make it past 45 to Green Bay. I'd be thrilled if he dropped to 54 and KC made him their pick, but I have zero faith he makes it anywhere near 78. There are plenty of teams in the top of the 2nd and even up to the Chiefs pick that could use a guy like him, including Cleveland, Indianapolis, Miami, New England, Green Bay, Arizona, and Baltimore. Carolina could easily make a jump from 55 if they don't go receiver in 1. Even IF he somehow slides to round 3, most of those teams pick again before KC at 78. I just don't see how you can confidently say what you said. But I'm the one full of shit. |

Besides, these guys adjust their rankings based on what they’re hearing throughout the process, so their rankings are usually more accurate as we get closer to the draft. Absolutely none of those guys have him as a late 1st/early 2nd rounder. That’s what you call a consesus and you’re completely dismissing it. You don’t have to agree, but don’t try to make me out to be an idiot because I’m going by the consensus of those guys as opposed to you. That’s why I’m saying you’re full of shit. |

Also, you said you’re not basing this on your grade, yet you’re ignoring and dismissing the grades of the best in the business. At the same time, you are using mock drafts from months ago, which I’m pretty sure wasn’t from those guys I mentioned, as proof that I’m wrong.
