I wouldn't say my arguments are weak if we start off slow next year 0-3 or 1-5 there will be plenty of articles about how KC is stuck with smith like last year name one other QB who gets the same treatment other then Cutler.

Who cares about Fitzpatrick? Any team with him starting is never getting to an SB.
With Manning gone,it's either Steelers or Colts or they'll make you buy the Pats getting there again for the millionth time.

Smith is never going to be a great QB.

He's a guy that keeps you in games by minimizing mistakes and lives to play another down.

But there are no great QBs available, and when you have a shot at drafting a guy that might have that upside, then you take it.

But even if there were actually 3 QBs in this draft that have that upside, you are not going to have a chance to get him at 28.

So you build the best team you can, and hope that it's good enough to get where you want to go.

The Chiefs are close to that team, and Alex Smith won't be the one thing holding them back.
