So, we should sign another WR, right? [Edit: RIGHT!!?!]
It's being reported at this time that Rice is expected to be suspended half the season or more.
If that's what's up, the good news is: he'll be good to go for December/January. The bad news is, here's the WR depth chart: Marquise Brown Xavier Worthy Justin Watson Skyy Moore Kadarious Toney Justyn Ross Nikko Remigio Cornell Powell Available WRs: Hunter Renfrow Allen Robinson Tyler Boyd Michael Thomas Marquez Valdes-Scantling Russell Gage Zay Jones Jamal Agnew Mecole Hardman Jakeem Grant Randall Cobb Marquise Goodwin Chase Claypool Deandre Carter Sterling Shepard Richie James Jalen Guyton Scotty Miller Laquon Treadwell Byron Pringle and some others Thoughts? That underneath/big slot role could be filled in a lot of ways, including by a TE. Don't need to bring in a name of a guy who used to be good a long time ago just to make someone feel better.

I suspect Sky will be on the team and get some looks, Ross is probably a Practice Squad guy like you said but I think Andy will try to get him a few looks early in the season to see if he can help. |

That last drive of the SB he was wide open on the crosser that went to Rice. I mean so wide open he probably scores on a spectacular 55 yd overtime game winning touchdown. |

Yeah, I didn't see it live, but the replay showed James more wide open than he's probably been in his entire career, and Mahomes just missed him. It likely would have been a long OT touchdown like you said.
On that note, Purdy missed an absolutely wide open Aiyuk in the end zone on the 3rd and 4 where Jones pressured him to throw it away and settle for the field goal in OT. That game might have been won by us on the slimmest of margins ever for a Super Bowl. |

I wish this would be the case. But they aren't cutting Moore. Just isn't going to happen this season. Not before Week 6-7 anyway. Probably not at all.

I saw a trade suggestion: 2025 1st for DK Metcalf
While I'd absolutely LOVE DK on this squad, and feel Worthy can replace Brown next year, I think his contract price tag is prohibitive. BUT mayn, could you imagine!? |

I think we're forgetting about Wiley, if he can step up yr 1 we're super dangerous IMO and don't need any additional help receiving.
Also, just listened to a youtube where a super fan convinced me that we should be excited about Irv Smith and Baylor Cupp! Exciting stuff!!! Last edited by Couch-Potato; 05-22-2024 at 06:48 PM.. |

Personally, I hope Wiley out-performs his projections. But the reality is that Andy is going to give him a subpackage of something between 10 and 15 plays going into Week 1 (same as he always does with every rook, apparently). Based on how he does over the next couple weeks, he'll maybe get another package of 15 or so plays to work on over the next few weeks. And so on. And Gray is ahead of him (for now), so Wiley isn't going to get a ton of touches off the bat. Knowing that, it's not super likely that Wiley will have a lot of production this season. It is likely that he'll be in on a lot of running plays, because everyone has to be able to block in this offense, and rooks always get a ton of snaps blocking.

I wouldn't be interested in trading for DK, this from a "I'll trade for anyone" mindset.
The math just doesn't math. |
