A Level Headed Review Week 9 2024

Going to try something a little different...

WR corps - I'l be honest I'm not sure if we need another WR or not - feels like it would be a nice security blanket to have another WR besides Ross/Remigio/Washington. DeAndre Hopkins really does catch everything thrown to him, the rainbow pass for 35 yards to Hopkins was disgusting and he literally caught everything Pat threw to him (8/9 86 yards 2 TD's). Worthy needs to work on his sideline awareness a couple of passes he should have had were negated by his feet being too close to the boundary. Watson really made his presence felt as well with 3 receptions on 4 targets for 43 yards.

TE's - It always seems like Kelce fumbles as he just tries a little too hard for extra yardage but his production was good tonight with 14/16 for 100 yards. I think he may be pressing a bit thinking he needs to help shoulder a bigger load. Grey was quiet tonight with only one target and no receptions. Payton Hendershot makes an appearance on the last drive with a 9 yard catch.

OL - I didn't get an opportunity to really watch what was happening on the OL but Vea is a force in the middle really collapsing the pocket and forcing Mahomes into a couple of sacks. I'll have to re-watch to get a really good idea of what specifically was happening.

ST's - pretty good for the most part but not kicking the ball out of the Endzone seemed pretty questionable at the start of the second half. Should always just kick it out of the back of the end zone. I feel like I know why they got lucky on the bounce on the previous KO that skipped in the EZ for the touchback and start at the 20. Trying to replicate that burnt us and let the Bucs start the 2nd half at the 50.

Defense - played really well despite giving up 3 TD's. I didn't feel like the problem was with the CB's this game but the Bucs had their top three receivers out of the game so that may have masked some of the deficiencies. The last drive was really sloppy defense giving up really big chunk plays...... Still personally on the Lattimore train if he is available....but if we decide to stand pat I think we will be okay.

Not sure why we got away from the running game in the first half, but Andy really switched it up in the second half and started ramming Hunt down their throats which really worked well (27 rushes for 106 yards and 1 TD). I didn't get a chance to look at the halftime rushing stats but it wasn't pretty.

OT - A steady dose of Hunt with a sprinkling of Kelce and Hopkins = WIN

Also what are Saced?

Right before they scored the td in overtime. Pass to Kelce to the 2yd line maybe? I just thought is was a little odd that the usual "refs help KC win" douchebags waited that long to start whining.

I'm sorry, have you perhaps ever watched the final defensive series of the first half of a Steve Spagnuolo coached defense?

He ALWAYS goes into that soft ass bullshit prevent defense under 2 minutes. Religiously. Like it's written into his ****ing contract that he has to do it.

So yes. If we had prime Deion, prime Revis, prime Carter and Hasty, yes we would watch those men play 5 yards off the ball, give up the catch and also surrender the mother ****ing sideline which negates the entire point of allowing the reception in the first place, which is to burn clock.

He does this shit every time. Under 2 minutes, soft ass coverage and enough time for the qb to order pizza.

Not to make excuses for the defense but I also think Tampa is way more impressive than advertised. People expected them to fold without Evans and Godwin. But they run a really good system out there that uses their talents as a strength. They did a really good job with some of that misdirection and much as I’m not cray about rachaad he is actually a decent system rb

Didn’t realize Reid left the game for a bit (he’s fine). I’m confident Hicks can replace him next year.

Kid looked pretty damn good

Heh, read the headline for that article on yahoo this morning and scrolled right on by... they needed to be talking about how Tampas O line was holding the shit out of us every single play

Yes, but I doubt we get Hopkins if Rice and Brown were healthy. They would probably have traded for a different position of need.

That's nothing!

Billay once caught 24 balls in a game after the age of 40

Lol, what happened? You lose a bet? Took the -9.5, huh? Should've listened to me before the game.

I think it’s important to remember they are still professionals that get paid. We aren’t going to stop every drive every time. It’s about stopping as many as possible but this is the NFL and they will score some.
