It's not terrible. There's a definite chance he goes that high, but in this mock, I'd bet you could have had him in the late 4th.

Every mock i've seen him in has him going in the 3-4th round. This mock is unpredictable as guys drafted in the 2nd shouldn't have been drafted until the 4th.

I'll weigh in.
You have a franchise qb that you gave two Drafts away for, who is struggling because he has no protection and no receivers, and you used the only pick you had on day 1 or 2 to address neither, instead deciding to reach for a project corner. |

I look at it from the prospective of being the new GM because the idiot they have now will be gone after this season. Anyway show me the franchise linemen that was available in this round? The WR core is ok again there was nothing in this round thats alot better. Look at Chicagos corners their best last year was Zackary Bowman whos the Brodie Croyle of CB's.

3rd round is not a reach for Owusu-Ansah, not on talent and physical ability. I see him going in the late 3rd ish though he could slip into the fourth. D2 players often find a way to slip one round lower than their talents project them to.

I don't think that 3rd round is a reach for A. Owusu-Ansah. He was fourth on my board. Houston was first, he may have been the 3rd best DT in the Big 12 this year but any other year he's 1st team and a much higher pick.

After losing Peppers in FA, perhaps the greatest need for the Panthers is DE. There is still a really nice pass-rusher available, who I have rated above many of the 3-4 OLBs already taken, but unfortunately that's what he is-a 3-4 OLB. So, we take a bit of a chance here on a small-school guy with great size (6'6", 276), very good athleticism, and a fast first step. He is raw, coming from division I-AA Murray State, but the upside is there. The Panthers will add a body to their terrible D-Line and select Austen Lane, DE, Murray State.

The 49ers have two big holes in the offensive line. RT and the LG position. The 49ers can grab a starter with this pick and replace David Baas. Baas has only started one full season so far.
The San Francisco 49ers select John Jerry, OG, Mississippi. Last edited by The Franchise; 03-17-2010 at 11:14 AM.. |
