*****The Patrick Mahomes Thread*****

IT ****ING HAPPENED

OP UPDATE:

Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy!

Alex's QBR was 1 point below Mahomie's for the season.

You can't make this shit up.

Serious question:

If Alex starts the game in Denver Week 17 (same exact lineup, just insert Smith for Mahomes) do we win?

When he gets that snap count cadence down.

When he calms down in the pocket.

He's going to need 1-2 more excellent receivers too. Guys who will win at the point of attack because Mahomes WILL give them chances. Robinson put on a shit show and it occurred to me that he'll need receivers who can react quickly to his passes when they don't expect it.
An interesting point. Here's maybe a different perspective. I think mahomes can throw guys open. Maybe we don't need elite receivers who dominate on routes. But I agree that receivers with good awareness and hands could be a plus. I still think of that throw where he threw an absolute dart to chessun that he dropped. Can't blame him for not catching it because it a throw most qbs won't make. But an instinctive receiver catches that. You can get these receivers pretty cheap. If we can get an instinctive receiver who can dominate routes too, icing on the cake.

Aqib Talib thinks Alex is gone

Quote:
“I saw enough of Patrick Mahomes to think Alex Smith is going to be a free agent next year,” Talib said. “That guy can play some ball, Vic. That guy can play some ball. He’s smart. I saw him checking protections, I saw him reading the defense. We know how strong his arm is. The guy is a competitor. I think Alex Smith, he definitely might be on the market this year.”

“The guy got an AK-47 for an arm,” Talib said about Mahomes. “He can throw it wherever he wants. It doesn’t matter if he’s running left or right. He’s got a gun for an arm and it shows on the field.”

Sometimes you have to pinch yourself and realize that we finally got one. We got one. he's going to be Rodgers/Brees/Roethlesberger good. I'll keep Brady out of the conversation, since he's a ****ing unicorn.

But Patrick Mahomes will win a super bowl for KC in the next three years. Book it.

No doubt in my mind Mahomes is going to be good. How good is the real question? It will be interesting to see.

Go Chiefs!

You could also tell what guys think of Alex.

Vic: “what about Alex? If he’s a FA would you welcome him here?”
Talib: “uhhhhh...Idk Vic.”
