Trade whatever possible for a LT prospect

I don’t care. If there’s a LT in this draft that they feel can be a good quality LT, do it.

I don’t care if it would cost three 1st rd picks. Mahomes is not gonna be this athletic for much longer.

It needs to happen

They weren't going to have any success against that front. Our running game is putrid.

If he needs 5 good/great OL to not freak out in the pocket, we need to have some discussions.

It seems like OL development has fallen off a cliff recently for us. Once upon a time they'd churn out at the very least competent players from the late round and UDFA pool. Fulton, LDT, Reiter, Wylie, Allegretti. Not guys you'd necessarily build around but you could plug them in and play and your offense wouldn't tank.

Sure.

LT's are like DE's. There's alot of bluster about "well this guy was a 3rd rounder" but most of them come from the early rounds in the draft.

It's why I don't really get on board with the "don't trade up" crowd. If they want an elite one, that's where they come from.

I don't think you need an elite one, and good solid ones can be easier had.

That’s never going to happen.

We’ve won 3 Super Bowl’s with the guy. He’s not perfect but sure is an overreaction IMO.

Blame Andy for running a scheme still that basically asks his Tackles to play like Pro Bowlers.

Like kicking your LG to LT, plugging in a journey man LG and making it to the SB?

Or their 5th round pick RG about to become one of the highest paid OL in history?

It's not as simple as "don't trade up". If we had a down season and we're picking 19th, by all means, trade up.

We are picking 31st. It would take a boatload of picks to go get "that guy" more than we gave up to get Mahomes. That's just not a luxury a team in this position can afford.

I don't think I'd do it, but if they think they can get a guy that can be a long term elite guy....whatever.

They've shown they can fill in the roster with lower rounders at some of these other spots.

The building blocks of this team - Mahomes, Worthy, Rice, Humphrey, Jones, McDuffie, Bolton - all first or 2nd round picks.

We simply aren't in a position to go get a top tier LT in the draft. It's gonna take missing the playoffs for that to happen.

Wills issue is he's hurt all the time.

Also lets take something into account, heard this on the lab with kcsn, and it's totally true. A big issue with the Chiefs OTs isn't just that they aren't in great position to get them, it's what they ask of them.

Asking guys to vertical set constantly, having a more condensed pocket, but you also have to protect deep because Mahomes will deep drop at times, what the Chiefs ask their OT's to do is one of the most difficult jobs in the NFL, other teams don't ask for the degree of difficulty the Chiefs do, and they're doing it without top end talent.

The QB playing the way he does makes the OL look alot worse, but we can't talk about that.
