OP UPDATE: Because of all the interest in this thread, I've place all of the video content of Patrick Mahomes II's college career, and draft day goodness into a single post that can be found here. Enjoy! Last edited by Dante84; 05-17-2017 at 09:40 AM.. |

If Mahomes is that weak mentally that struggling in his first game is going to be some major issue then he isn't the player we think he is.
Who is coming in if Alex got hurt in the playoffs? That's the player that should be getting week 17 if it's a meaningless game. No matter what fans think, an NFL coach can't just say "were screwed" if Alex gets hurt. You get your backup ready if the chance comes. This isn't about me not being able to wait. I can wait another offseason after waiting as many as I have. If you get a chance to give him some experience you should take it. He could do a lot in an offseason with a game under his belt. The guy isn't going to curl up in a ball if he has a bad game. |

Good deal. I trust Veach to shore things up nicely this offseason.

The Titans winning out and the Jaguars losing out is practically the only way the Chiefs can be the #3 Seed.
If the Jags win another game and the Chiefs lock up the West, Mahomes is a guarantee to start in Denver. If the Jags lose to SF (not completely impossible) and the Titans win out, Alex Smith will play. |

Anyone else getting sheer joy out of looking at 2018 mock drafts and realizing for the first time in decades we don't want to/need to draft a QB? Most fan bases wouldn't understand or get that, but it's so damn relieving to me.

Maybe if we had a 1st round draft pick. Otherwise it's incredibly difficult to get excited about the draft when we'll be picking at the bottom end of round 2, making it incredibly difficult to project who we'll get.

If they can trade Smith for a decent pick, I'll get excited.

Yea, the 2018 draft is going to be the least exciting draft in a long time for me.
Getting another day 2 pick for Alex would surely help, but I’m already usually watching prospects by now (especially after the losing streak). It was all worth it for the golden boy though |

I'm still holding out hope that we can trade Smith to the Browns for their 2nd round pick.
