Why do you hate Derrick Brooks? What do you have against former Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year winners?

Interesting. I've read a few of these Top 100 player rankings and Queen and Murray are generally in the Top 25, if not Top 20.

Yes but those are writers and not GMs, show me, other than dudes who were considered elite blue chip off ball LBs, how many go in the 1st round.

Last year was White and Bush who frankly had better resumes than these guys, Simmons is the guy this year that'll do that.

But for the most part off ball LBs aren't highly valued.

When you look at the scenarios it pretty much comes down to the Pats, Saints, and Ravens.

If 2 of those 3 don’t take Queen/Murray, and nobody unexpectedly takes them way early, there’s a good chance one can fall.

Teams like the Raiders and Packers plugging holes at LB in free agency definitely made it a possibility.

I think the Saints are a darkhorse team to take a WR, why would a team that has Brees on his last legs not want to give him more weapons when he's literally played 2 years with 1 WR now?

I had the Saints penciled in at WR until they signed Sanders, now I think it’s 50/50 unless Love falls into their lap and they can’t resist.

Daniel Jeremiah released his final top 150 players today and a guy who we’ve met with (and from what I’m reading had a virtual meeting with) was ranked 19th.

Very interesting prospect who I’ve barely seen anyone talk about.

Sure, it's possible, but it seems like to me that both players will find homes before they hit the #32 spot.

New England and Baltimore come to mind and I'm sure there are others.

I actually think he's in play for the Raiders at 19, they spent money on LB, unless they think Derek Carr is just going to change who he is drafting a WR won't help.....they need interior DL the most.

Maybe Veach would trade up in front of them for either Murray or Queen. Shouldn’t cost a ton to move up 5-6 spots.

If NE wants to do anything at QB, they have to go up or down at that pick...Queen is not their style of guy either, if anything they're the type of team that would take McKinney.

So if I go out there and look to specifically bomb the Chiefs draft board, I get through 28 players before I run out of guys I'd be happy to take in the 1st round.

And to do that, I have to leave Herbert, Becton, Chaisson, Love, Mims and Gross-Matos (as well as all the RBs) on the board. It also leaves Winfield on the board, who some are falling in love with.

My "jesus, we just got pillaged" list ends up with:

Igbinoghene, CB - Auburn
Reagor - WR, TCU
Aiyuk - WR, TCU
Chinn - S/LB, ISU
Brooks, LB - TTU

And the aforementioned:

Winfield
Becton
Chaisson
Gross-Matos
A shitload of RBs

Those are all guys who don't fit, have major red flags or are simply taken a little too early at 32, but they're all quality prospects. I'd be looking to trade down something fierce but this is also virtually impossible (because someone would give you a kings ransom to go get Herbert or would've traded up ahead of us to get him).

I say that to say that Veach is going to have a quality player or two to choose from. We say "I'd be shocked if X is available" a LOT. But some of those Xs are gonna be available. It's a deep draft through 25 or so and then a second tier that probably goes another 30 players deep. Through the first 2 rounds, we'll have shots at real quality players both times.

Please no Breeland Speakses...

Yeah, no consensus on that dude (achilles injury scaring teams off?) but he does some pretty outstanding stuff. He's the guy I said I figured the Pats would go after instead of Epenesa.

There's Chris Jones potential there.
