That's about it - am I missing someone? Minter's probably the best player of that lot, almost by default.

Then there's Devin White but the books far from written there.

I wouldn't say LSU has any kind of standout history for linebackers unless I'm just completely whiffing on someone.
Whoa now...

I see you listed Devin White
Deion Jones?
Kwon Alexander?

Queen has some Deion Jones in his game as that dude is awesome in coverage.

OU doesn't have a stellar history in their own right, though. Curtis Lofton is probably the class of this field and then a few 'meh' guys like Clint Ingram that hung around for a bit.

Not sure there's much to be taken from it either way, honestly.

Jones and Alexander - good pulls. Strong off-ball backers that weren't exactly slam-dunk NFL prospects coming out of High School. They both developed nicely in college.

Okay - point Queen.

Isn't it pretty much consensus that Murray is better?

And to add here if we draft Kenneth Murray I'm not going to be upset, you can do way worse than him, he's also a great dude and will probably be an NFL man of the year at some point.

He's a better run defender, he's a bit bigger and a bit more scheme versatile, but playing 4-3 will/coverage backer Queen might be an all pro...it comes down to what you like.

Queen has really rare instincts in coverage that you just don't see in LBs.

From what I've seen it's been the inverse. But we may just be reading different stuff.

Murray lost some momentum around December and never seemed to recapture it. Meanwhile LSU was rolling folks and Queen seemed to pass him in the draft circles.

I guess with the current trends, a coverage backer is important, but i don't really know that i want my LB in coverage that much anyway?

Its team flavor, if I was say Baltimore, I'd lean Murray I don't like Queens fit in any type of odd front.

New Orleans would probably take Queen just cause their fan base would jizz its pants.

It seems to me that some of these scouting reports and mock drafts people like Murray better than Queen because Murray is as close to a "Finished Product" as you'll find in this year's draft, while Queen has a much higher upside due to the fact that he's only started for one season.

At this point in time, I don't think you can go wrong with either guy, it's just a matter of preference, although I would be shocked to see either player at #32.

I wouldn't the NFL has shown you they don't value off the ball LB's.

{thinks to self - "Self, how big was Derrick Brooks in college?"}

{tappitytappitytap}

Well I'll be damned. 6 ft, 229 lbs coming out of FSU. Y'know, balls on the same size as Patrick Queen.

Derrick Brooks turned out okay.

I actually think Murray will go first because he fits more what the old guard of guys running teams is going to like...also his personal stuff and character is so off the charts and teams like that.
