This. I wouldn't be surprised if he was out next week as well.

Reminds me of the Troy Aikman concussions...

After getting 2 in one game, I can see where he would be reconsidering... I know I would.. No amount of money will ever fix the long lasting effects on CTE with him or his family...

Dude needs to protect him and his future first, family and then playing football.

Even if you agree with the ban (I do not), six months definitely seems... extreme

I hope some of the other mods can talk Mr. Dole out of it

They have to protect Smith.

This is probably thread-worthy, but meh. Anyway, here's a nice all-22 comparison between Smith and Foles from last week.

I think it's just to take pressure off the players.

If you don't declare him out, every single reporter is going to be asking both Smith and Foles, as well as pretty much every other player on the team, how Alex is doing this week.

I think you're making a massive leap here. Smith was just out on his feet twice in one week; playing him this week was not a great idea regardless of what he reports would've said. By just declaring him out, you get the focus off the 'will he/won't he' thing and just towards preparing the guys you have to play this weekend.

It's a smart move by Reid, IMO.

If you're not going to ban Clay for his trolling (and I've warned him MANY times that he was close to getting banned again), then NO ONE should be banned, ever.

Is that a forum in which you want to participate? NO bannings? Trolls in each and every ****ing thread?

By making the decision that Smith is out early in the week, there's no need to split practice reps between Foles and Smith. Presumably, that's not as critical for a RB as it is for a QB.

No, they HAVE to beat the Jaguars. Shouldn't be too difficult with Foles, but if he gets hurt and it becomes the Bray Show while non-concussed Alex watches in street clothes, that could really suck.

Gotcha, I thought that was what you were thinking... We saw the results of that bad decision making in Indy...

Smith needs to step back and regroup... What he went through in Indy has the potential to be career ending.

Fiercely and effectively advocating for a position you believe in is not trolling.

Pretty fair review; really nothing to argue about in there.

If the Chiefs need to turn to Bray, it'll test their meddle.

I'm not against that.
