Saban also called them "WORMS" and the Donks from 2016 to the present have had to view what KC has done from a worm's eye-view. I remember telling this one Donktard named Marvin H over at Arrowhead Addict in 2015 that once Manning hung up the cleats, the Donkeys were going to the abyss & here we are. Elway was there as part of the celebration for the 25th and 50th championship teams. I really doubt that at this point he cared much about which team he presented the trophy to that night. Sure, has a few close ties to the HC and GM… but, cannot imagine that it bruised his ego to do it.

I can't help but wonder if Elway was having Derrick Thomas flashbacks when he had to put himself through that. |

Yeah...the franchise, coach and QB that sent him to the GM glue factory. There is no way you believe what you just posted. Without a QB doped out on HGH and using this to recruit players...he was straight executive trash. His ability to identify the very worst OL and overpay them was an art form. The moment Manning retired...he was exposed for the fraud he always was. |

Every defensive starter and the top 5 defensive backups by # of snaps were all Elway acquisitions over his first 4 1/2 years as GM. An historic defense that won the SB - built during and woven into the years Elway mostly built the greatest offense in NFL History, while simultaneously leaving the crying child Dempsey without an excuse to explain his tearful "you guys are cheaters!" accusations. You wrote a made-up anti-Broncos paragraph, then slapped my quote around it? Quote:
Second, wrong again. He “accepted the gig” as honoring the 25th Anniversary of his (brace yourselves) greatest ride off into the retirement sunset ever – as Super Bowl MVP in the second of B2B SB wins. Third – wrong again! Hate to burst your bubble, but unlike you guys in here, and other fans, players and coaches don’t “hate” rivals. They’re more like employees at different locations of the same corporation. Sure, there’s bad blood at times and hyper competition between teams, but the players are friends, at least in the off-season. I worked in Broncos Media Relations a year and a half, then KOA Radio in Denver, KWGN-TV etc. Been around players some, it’s not the same as fans. You heard about Travis Kelce complimenting Bo Nix today, right? But … RealSNR and RedinTexas say it was cool having Elway there, I’ll trust them. Quote:

If you really think all these SBs are “fixed,” why are you a fan? You should watch wrestling or something. I am loathe to respond to the content of that, but Peyton specifically credited John with NOT chasing after him as one reason he chose Denver. He said something like “John told me what the Broncos would do, what they couldn't do, and he told me how much they wanted me. Then they left me alone. He knew I was busy with five other teams – two of which by the way called every single day just to see if they had moved up or down my list!” Quote:
We went through 12 years of angst before starting a pro-team-sports record 46-year streak with no two consecutive losing seasons (Dodgers 2nd 29 yrs). Our first winning record was 73, went to the 1977 Super Bowl, had the best H2H record vs. double-dynasty Steelers in their decade of the 70s. (And FYI Broncos the only team without a losing career record vs. Tom Brady, going .500 reg season and playoffs).* Since the merger, Broncos games have been featured on national TV more than any other team (largely because their home games are played in the late doubleheader window), and the Broncos have the longest home sellout streak in the League. There has NEVER BEEN a SEAT FOR SALE to a Broncos NFL home game AFTER THE WEDNESDAY of a game week.** Broncos played in one SB in the Mid-late 70s, three in the Mid-late 80s, two in the Mid-late 90s, and two in the early-mid teens. Even more, the Broncos were 8-2 in Championship games. __________________ * Chiefs have a winning % vs. Brady, reg season games only ** Packers have sold out every game at Lambeau Field since 1959. But in the 70s and 80s they played two games per year in Milwaukee, some of which did not sell out. . Last edited by BroncoBuff; Yesterday at 12:59 PM.. |

We do not 'think' that the Donkeys SB's were fixed -- it is stark reality & overwhelming proof of that has been posted in this thread, which you've been unable to answer or refute. |

True or false: The Broncos won their first SB in their 38th year as a franchise, following many disappointments, embarrassments, and outright failed seasons. Also true or false: Broncos fans dealt with a lot of angst prior to going B2B in 97/98, and a lot of angst since. |

Loaded with "angst." That might've made sense when leagues were 8, 10, 12 teams, but 32 is a lotta teams, and there's still what - 11, 12 teams without a SB win? You must realize I also see you're trying to prop up a theory of excellence that includes the Chiefs and excludes the Broncos. That's not gonna be easy... calling everything before any team's first SB win a "failure" is ridiculous. In what sense? . |

Fixed...man, that blocked FG sent him into a rationalizing death spiral.
How do you say "I'm jealous that your franchise/QB is historically superior in it's accomplishments in every possible way" without saying it? Beating the QB/WR-less Saints and Panthers really exposed how desperate they are....a decade of basement dwelling will do that. They really thought they were a good team...chumps. You guys didn't even notice, or you're still kidding yourselves that I'm some fist-pumping flamethrower who only wants to argue .... but I googled the reason Elway was on that dais, and you guys - collectively - were mostly correct. I posted it above.
Right down to the throw-in "he only agreed because he thought he'd be giving it to the 49ers" ... |
