Thank God Nick Wright is out there to stick up for us.
People really think that if, with a couple minutes left in the 3rd quarter, the Chiefs had a 2nd and 6 from their 39 instead of a 1st and 10 from the Texans' 46, the game would have gone differently. In the Ringer's winners/losers column, they straight up said that was the difference. ****ing ridiculous!

Texans score 12 points and lose in a play-off game. All of the rest of it is noise.

It's one thing to bitch about an alleged blown call or two, but to publicly cry conspiracy is pathetic and childish bullshit. And of course, to all the bums refereeing KC's games from their La-Z-Boys, it served as validation of their tears.

To be honest...I was afraid they were going to call that when I saw the play. He did land on him, and I figured shit...here comes the flag.

Yep. They even lowered their heads to try and take Mahomes out. That gets called every time in the NFL. Its a very consistent call.

10. Everyone pretends they love the Texans just because they hate the Chiefs
11. Ravens fans divert their pain of having a choker at QB and refunnel it into the ref conspiracy instead of doing what they really need, which is therapy

It was clear that both of those defenders were very clearly trying to hit Mahomes in his helmet. One of them was legitimately trying to take him out, even Simms thinks that and so even if neither one made contact I think it's a good call.
#2 is the point I've been trying to make to everyone who complains about those calls. Texans whine about officiating but when you have a rep.....Just ask Trevor Lawrence.

Texans head coach was skirting the line on that one. Not sure if they can fine him for that.

If it was the same play and the defenders made attempts to miss and not target with headshots, the penalty probably doesn’t get called. The intent was too obvious

I am so done with this ****ing topic, people are just idiots.

Every argument goes like this -

Chiefs get all the calls! Its rigged!

You show them data does not support that and KC is actually more penalized than most teams.

Then they say its all about WHEN they get the penalties which always help them get a big first down at the end of the game etc....

You ask when that scenario happened on Saturday, the most recent game they are all crying about.

And all you get back is ^%$!&#%~@*&$#^%&$^!!

Yep. That is exactly what is happening in the comments. No amount of reasonable argument will change some people's minds.

I am basically always afraid of a flag after a big play lol

But idk. Maybe the refs just decided if the Texans OL and Stroud himself weren’t going to protect the QB, why would they?

Here’s the official snippet on the ‘body weight’ section of RTP from the rule book. They also could have felt like it just didn’t warrant a penalty.

Quote:
A rushing defender is prohibited from committing such intimidating and punishing acts as “stuffing” a passer into the ground or unnecessarily wrestling or driving him down after the passer has thrown the ball, even if the rusher makes his initial contact with the passer within the one-step limitation provided for in (a) above. When tackling a passer who is in a defenseless posture (e.g., during or just after throwing a pass), a defensive player must not unnecessarily or violently throw him down or land on top of him with all or most of the defender’s weight. Instead, the defensive player must strive to wrap up the passer with the defensive player’s arms and not land on the passer with all or most of his body weight
